Stanton and Murray met in season three of The Bachelor in Paradise where Stanton was one of the contestants. When Murray (former winner of The Bachelor) showed up on the show, the mother of two was swept off her feet by his charming looks and personality.
Amanda Stanton soon came under criticism from both friends and fellow contestants for being too close to Murray but the two were determined to make their newfound love work. They walked out of the show together as a pair and got engaged at the end of the show. To top it off, they moved in together with Murray flying all the way to California to live with to Stanton and her girls in her apartment in Irvine. They seemed so perfect together and posted Instagram and social media photos to make us believe all was well.
Josh Murray And Amanda Stanton Split – What Really Happened?
In January 2017, the news of Josh Murray And Amanda Stanton’s breakup hit social media. At first, everyone thought it was just a rumor until Josh confirmed the news to Mag. In his statement to Mag, Josh stated that Stanton and the girls will always have a special place in his heart and that he wishes her nothing but the best because she deserves it.
Just when we were adjusting to the news of their breakup, the next month, Entertainment Tonight, reported that the duo was spotted in L.A kissing. Josh would later tell Us Weekly that his relationship with Amanda Stanton was “complicated” and that they were trying to work things out.
Note it was just Josh doing all the talking at this point, Amanda was completely quiet about the whole thing, which many people found rather strange as the mother of two is known to be very active on social media and feels free to share her relationship on the platforms. Many felt her silence was a red sign and this proved to be true because while we were still wishing them all the best working out their issues, news came that they have finally broken up for real.
The breakup really got messy and there are different versions as to what really happened. According to Murray’s personal assistant Hayley Watts, Josh had made an appearance in L.A during the finale of Nick’s season of Bachelor and got into a huge argument with Amanda, which led to her throwing his (Josh) stuff out from their shared apartment and in the hallway.
The story didn’t end there, a week later, Josh Murray requested his car which he had bought in his name, while they were together and had allowed her to use it since they were considering starting a family together. Josh’s PA claimed Stanton refused to give it back and that resulted in them calling the police on her. Amanda, on the other hand, claimed she tried to arrange a time to give it back.
Sharing her own side of the story, Amanda Stanton said she had always seen the red flags in their relationship right from the beginning but chose to ignore them. According to her, Murray had been more concerned about how he was been portrayed on the show than for her and that had hurt her feelings. She added that he appeared to have issues with Nick Viall, whom she had dated previously on the series.
Even after moving over to California to stay with her and her kids, Amanda said he was always was talking about how he still wanted to go back to Atlanta, so she kicked him out and asked him to go back to Atlanta. She insisted that the breakup was difficult and hurt a lot, but it was the best thing to do. The two have moved on with their lives.
