As the saying goes, family drama makes the world go round… that doesn’t sound correct, but we will stick with it anyway? Regardless, we are here to dish out a fair share of family drama today as we check out Adele’s father and the relationship he has with his incredibly famous daughter. Also, it’s no news that the singer likes to keep her family business private, we managed to dig up a bit of information about them anyway.
Adele’s Father
Point at an overly emotional female and we will show you the man that gave her some serious daddy issues. In the star’s case, that man is Mark Evans and he’s Adele’s father. He met Adele’s mother in the summer of 1987 after he just moved to London to work as a window cleaner, according to him the moment he saw Penny Adkins, it was love at first sight.
Shortly after that they moved in together and had Adele on May 5, 1988, but by the time she was 9 months old, her parents had already separated. At this point, Mark still played a role in her life, although he moved back to Wales. What caused the actual rift between them to grow further was his father’s death.
Mark’s father, John, died as a result of bowel cancer, that broke the young man’s heart to the point that he took to the bottle. While speaking to The Sun in 2011, he said,’ My drinking made Oliver Reed look like a teetotaler, I was a rotten father at a time when she really needed me.’
He added, ‘ I was putting away two litres of vodka and seven or eight pints of Stella every day, I drank like that for three years. God only knows how I survived it. I was deeply ashamed of what I’d become and I knew the kindest thing I could do for Adele was to make sure she never saw me in that state.’
They still have a strained relationship, but due to his own encounter with bowel cancer, the same culprit that took his father’s life, Adele’s father claimed that they had patched up their broken relationship. Which is a big deal, because she apparently once claimed that she would spit on him if she saw him on the street.
He actually publicly reached out to her in an interview, begging for forgiveness, he opened up admitting that not only did his drinking spur their estrangement, but there was also the issue of an interview in which he gave details about the family’s past. The two allegedly reconciled while her most recent album, 25, was still in the works, Adele later denied it.

Now it’s time to move onto the part of the family that the star is in good terms with, Adele is very private about her family/personal life and this is probably why she was so ticked off when her dad blabbed about personal issues. Anyway, here is what we could dig up on the rest of her family.
Adele’s Mother
Her name is Penny Susan Adkins and she gave birth to and practically raised the star on her own. Adele’s relationship with her mother is a sharp contrast from the one she has with her dad, she has often referred to her mum as her best friend and she acknowledges her as one of the influences in her life that led to her success.
Adele loves her momma bear and has often acknowledged her in some of her songs, such as, Hometown Glory, Million Years Ago, and her cover of The Cure’s Lovesong. That’s not all she has done for her mother though, in February, 2013, Adele gifted her mother with an apartment worth a whopping £600,000. Now that’s a gift fit for a queen.
Adele’s Husband
Not only is he the star’s husband, Simon Konecki is also the father of her son. The star is a stickler for keeping her business private and as such has tried but failed to keep the fact that she tied the knot with her long time boyfriend a secret, she finally acknowledged the fact that they were hitched during her 2017 Grammy acceptance speech.
The two actually met through Ed Sheeran in 2011, when she was taking a break from singing due to her throat surgery.
He may not be as popular as Adele , but he is holding up quite well on his own. According to the Sun, he was a director of EBS, a division of trading giant Icap, before managing teams of senior brokers at Lehman Brothers. At some point he decided that he wasn’t going to work for ‘the man’ anymore, rather he would make the world a better place.
That led to him co founding Life Water, an eco-friendly brand of bottled water in the UK, with his friend Lucas White, which later gave birth to a charity, Drop4Drop, which campaigns to provide clean water in poor countries.
Adele’s Son
Above all, she tries to keep her little one out of the public eye as much as she can, yes she is a vicious Mama bear and she has the law suit to prove it. She was 7 months pregnant when she announced the news of her pregnancy and after his birth no one knew his name for months as it was very personal to the star.
Little Angelo was born on October 20, 2012 and almost 2 years later, he was the center of some court filled drama. Sometime in July 2014, the star sued paparazzi and won a five-figure sum in damages after they published photographs of Angelo the previous summer.
The star had grounds to do this since she had already insisted that Angelo never become public property. Recently, the star gave her fans a little insight into how she is raising her son. She said, ‘ I’m raising him to respect women. He knows I’m a powerful force, he feels it at home, let alone when he comes to work with me. And he comes everywhere with me anyway!’
There are speculations that she is planning to have another child with her husband.
