Playing for the Alabama football team, Amari Cooper broke Alabama’s 62-year-old record set by Alfred Lary by scoring 11 touchdowns in his freshman year. He also recorded 59 receptions for 1,000 receiving yards in 14 gameplays. By the end of the season, Cooper was named to the SEC All-Freshman team by the league coaches and he also earned consensus Freshman All-American honors.

Amari Cooper was selected by the Oakland Raiders as the 4th overall pick in the NFL draft of 2015. He made his professional debut for the Raiders against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 13, 2015. Although the Raiders lost 33 – 13 to Bengals, Amari hauled 5 receptions with 47 receiving yards. He further set a franchise rookie record having over 100 receiving yards and 72 receptions in five games.
