Armie Hammer is an American actor who became known for his role in The Social Network where he played two characters – the Winklevoss Twins. He broadened his repertoire when he appeared as the titular character in the 2013 western film, The Lone Ranger, which co-starred Johnny Depp. He also appeared as Illya Kuryakin, a Russian KGB assassin in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. He also played Associate Director of the FBI, Clyde Tolson in J. Edgar, a 2011 biographical film also starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Armie was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for this role.
In 2016, he appeared in the psychological thriller, Mine, opposite Annabelle Wallis. He also voiced the character of Jackson Storm, in the animated comedy – Cars 3. In 2017, he starred in the critically acclaimed and Academy Award-nominated film, Call Me By Your Name.

Armand Douglas “Armie” Hammer was born on the 28th of August, 1986 in Santa Monica, California to Dru Ann and Michael Hammer. His mother was a bank loan officer while his father was a wealthy businessman and philanthropist. Armie also has a younger brother, Viktor. Armie’s great-grandfather, Armand Hammer, was an oil tycoon and philanthropist.
The actor is of Russian heritage as his ancestors were Russian Jewish immigrants to the United States. He is also a descendant of Julian Hammer who was a founding member of New York’s Communist Party. Julian Hammer was from Odesa, which was part of the Russian empire but is now part of Ukraine.
