Bindi Irwin is the daughter of a popular wildlife expert but she is best known as an Australian Actress and TV personality. She is also a well-known singer and dancer who has so far, chosen to follow in the footsteps of her parents who both own a zoo.

Bindi was born on July 24, 1998, as the only daughter of Zoologists Terri and Steve Irwin who are both hosts of a popular nature program The Crocodile Hunter which ran for over eleven years. Australian by nationality with an English-Irish ethnicity, Bindi was raised alongside her only brother, Robert, in Buderim, Queensland. Bindi’s names were inspired by her parent’s favorite animals. For example, she was named Bindi by her father, after his favorite crocodile while her middle name Sue was given to her by her mother and is after the family’s favorite dog Sui which died of Cancer. Her father, however, stated that the name Bindi is an Australian word for “Young girl”.
Bindi was homeschooled and that is where she developed a strong passion for animals like her parents. At the age of two, the young Princess was already featuring in her father’s TV program. Bindi’s career journey officially started after the death of her father in 2006 when the young lady decided to launch her own TV show called Bindi: The Jungle Girl where she continued to foster her father’s legacy. Bindi Irwin also wrote a few fictional books for young readers and featured on numerous TV talk shows like The Late Show with David Letterman, The Show and Oprah and Larry King Live. In the same year her father died, Bindi Irwin was greatly applauded for delivering a eulogy for her father in front of a large crowd worldwide television audience of more than 300 million viewers. Her speech was later voted the television moment of the year, thus earning her huge popularity.
In 2008, she was named the Most Popular New Female Talent by Logie Award. Bindi’s brother, Robert Irwin was born on December 1, 2003, and like his parents and older sister, he is a Television personality, conservationist and an author. Powell left his wakeboarding career in Florida and joined his girlfriend in Australia in the bid to help her and her family with their conservation work. He now lives with Bindi at the Irwin family’s 100-acre property.

She recently debuted her own Barbie after she was selected the conservationist of the year as an inspiration for one of 17 dolls based on inspiring women.
