Boris Franz Becker was born on November 22, 1967, in Leimen, West Germany, to Karl Heinz Becker and Elvira Becker. He opted to attend the West Germany Tennis Federation so as to chase his dreams of becoming a professional tennis player.

Upon joining the Federation, he competed in several local youth championships with him going on to win the maiden edition of the German Youth Tournament at the age of 10. Having perfected his services as well as his smashes, it was only a matter of time before he made an impact in the game.

In 1985, Boris Becker became a force to reckon with in the world of tennis after going all the way to reach the Wimbledon finals in which he defeated Kevin Curran in four sets.
