The versatile thespian began life’s journey on March 25, 1976. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and his parents are Cha Jae-wan and Choi Su-min. His media affiliations could be traced to his father who worked as an assistant director for the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), while his entertainment gene could have come from his mother, who was also a voice-over artist and lends her voice for movie characters in the film industry. However, he is not alone in the rub off from parents to children as his brother, Cha Ji-Hyun is currently a movie producer.
His high school is not known but he obtained three college degrees. The pursuit of his college degrees was framed by his desire to explore the entertainment and media world just like his parents did.
