Chad Gilbert’s Relationship with Sherri DuPree and Hayley Williams

His life basically revolves around music, a cause he has been involved in for the larger part of his life. Chad Gilbert joined his first band, Shai Hulud at the age of 14 and for the last two decades, he has been the lead guitarist, backing vocals and composes for the rock band, New Found Glory.

However, as successful as he has become in his career, he has never seemed to be able to hold it together in the marital front. Here’s all you need to know about the relationship of this American musician and record producer.

Chad Gilbert Bio

The New Found Glory lead guitarist was born Chad Everett Gilbert on March 9, 1981, in Coral Springs, Florida. He attended J.P. Taravella High School. Gilbert grew up listening to retro 50’s and 60’s rock and country music as his parents were into the genre. He lived in Los Angeles for most of his adult life (14 years) before making the full-time move to Franklin, Nashville.

Since his teenage years, Chad Gilbert has lived a clean lifestyle which was partly inspired by hearing H2O songs. However, he had some health issues in 2010 which required a surgical operation. Half of his thyroid was removed following the discovery of some suspicious cells. The surgery was a success and no cancer cell was found.

Career

He was recruited as a vocalist by the then newly formed hardcore punk band Shai Hulud and sang with them from 1995 to 1997. The band recorded a three-song extended play (EP) titled A Profound Hatred Of Man (1997) but became known for their first full-length, Hearts Once Nourished with Hope and Compassion which was released later that year. However, he would rejoin his parent band in 2004 on tour and in 2012 to supply vocal to and produce their fourth studio album named Reach Beyond the Sun (2013).

Shortly after he left, he joined the three friends, Jordan Pundik (lead vocals), Ian Grushka (bass guitar) and Steve Klein (guitar) to form the rock band, New Found Glory. As a part of the quintet, Gilbert plays the lead guitarist, sings backing vocals, and composes music. Cyrus Bolooki later joined the band in 1997 to replace temporary drummer, Joe Marino and Klein left in 2013. The band is renowned for their energetic live performances and is considered by music critics as a key pioneer of the pop-punk genre. They have released nine studio albums, one live album, two EPs, and three cover albums.

Additionally, Gilbert was a lead vocalist for the band’s now-defunct side-project, their periodical hardcore punk band, International Superheroes of Hardcore. They recorded about sixteen songs all of which are typically humorous in nature. Their solo album titled Takin’ it Ova! (2008) was included in the New Found Glory EP Tip of the Iceberg and is available separately on 12″ vinyl. Also in 2008, on November 25, they released an EP, HPxHC.

Chad Gilbert has a solo project known as What’s Eating Gilbert for which he began writing songs in 2009 and is also credited as a record producer on a number of projects. Despite his busy schedule with New Found Glory, he found time to release solo music online for free including several demos and 7″ vinyl records. He released three EPs in 2010, Cheap Shots EP (2012), a split single with the band Octaves in 2013 and Come On Let’s Go EP in 2014. What’s Eating Gilbert’s debut album, That New Sound You’re Looking For was released by Hopeless Records in 2015.

As a producer, Chad produced H2O’s Nothing to Prove (2008) and Use Your Voice (2015), A Day to Remember’s albums including Homesick (2009), What Separates Me from You (2010), and Common Courtesy (2013), as well as Fireworks’s All I Have to Offer Is My Own Confusion (2009). Moreover, he wrote the song Hit or Miss for American Pie 2. In 2018, he embarked on his latest project, an annual breakfast themed music festival, BreakFEST which debuted on June 24 on The Factory at Franklin’s Liberty Hall.

Though he has been in the industry for over two decades and counting, Gilbert has retained his passion and drive by remaining focused, sticking true to his roots and making professional and creative decisions that always serve his audience.
