Chelsea Ambriz is an on-air metrologist who became popular in the media after she got involved in a vicious brawl with her co-worker, Erica Bivens. The incident did not only leave Bivens with a fractured skull and ruptured eye drum, but it also led to the suspension of Ambriz from her place of work.
Well, she might have gotten popular the more as a result of that incident, but that is not all there is to Chelsea. The metrologist developed a penchant for nature from childhood after watching a television series that documented the history of the earth on the History Channel called “How the Earth Was Made”. Apart from her on-air stint, Chelsea works as a community volunteer leader for the American Red Cross.
Chelsea Ambriz – Bio
The metrologist arrived in the world on the 17th of June 1992. Her home town is in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States. Information about her family background, parents, and siblings are not yet available to the public at the moment.
Upon completing her elementary and high school education, Chelsea proceeded to Purdue University to further her education. She joined the institution in 2011 and later graduated in 2014 with a degree in atmospheric science, with a minor in communications. Stuffed to the brim, the metrologist also holds a certificate in global entrepreneurship and innovation.
Ambriz’s broadcasting career began at Indianapolis-based CW-affiliated television, WISH-TV, where she interned for three months while conducting weather research for the Red Cross. She later traveled to places like Hong Kong, Beijing, and China to learn how businesses are managed abroad.
Chelsea Ambriz’s next stop was at the Jackson, Tennessee-based television station WBBJ-TV in the year 2015. However, her stint at the station which is an affiliate of ABC TV network and CBS TV network only lasted for two years, after which she joined the Huntington-based television station, WSAZ-TV (which is affiliated with The CW TV network and NBC TV network).
As an on-air forecaster at WSAZ-TV, Ambriz was known for being on duty in the evening and for focusing mainly on the weather condition on the West Virginia area. She began trending for the wrong reason in mid-2018 when she picked a fight with her colleague Erica while on a night out with the latter’s husband.
According to multiple sources, the metrologist and her colleague were getting on well at the bar until Chelsea allegedly started making advances towards Bivens’ husband who turned her down and narrated what happened to his wife. Erica then accosted Chelsea over the incident and it led to a vicious brawl between the ladies inside the bar.
Chelsea Ambriz was said to have fractured her colleague’s skull and also ruptured her eardrum in the course of the fight. Though she didn’t publicize her suspension, it was gathered that she informed some of her friends that she had been fired from WSAZ-TV.
She was subsequently charged with misdemeanor battery in relation to the altercation that took place on 26th August 2018, however, the charges were dropped sometime in January 2019 after Erica failed to appear in the court of law. Bivens, who worked as the anchor of the WSAZ-TV channel’s First Look at 4 and 10 o’clock News is also said to have been dismissed from the station.
Is She Married, Who Is Her Husband?
The weather anchor is currently single and not in an open relationship. While Chelsea Ambriz is very open about her professional life, the same cannot be said of her love life which she has kept under wraps since she stepped into stardom.
Sometime in February 2018, Ambriz attracted a wide media coverage after she was spotted with a handsome guy at West Virginia’s Carnival Fundraiser program at Clay Centre for the Arts and Sciences, sparking relationship rumor among her fans.
However, the weather anchor later took to her social media page to clarify that the guy was her co-worker and not her boyfriend. At the time of filing this report, she has not introduced any man to her fans as her boyfriend or husband.
Net Worth and Salary
Chelsea Ambriz was on her way to the peak of her broadcasting career before she got into the trouble that led to her dismissal from WSAZ-TV. Since she left the media house, it’s not clear if she has landed a new job or not.
Currently, she has a net worth of $300,000, however, the exact amount the 5 feet 7 inches metrologist takes home as salary is not known to the public.
