Titus endured a turbulent childhood, featuring an alcoholic father and a schizophrenic mother, but did not give up. He rather mined his experiences and has become one of America’s top funny men. Christopher Todd Titus was born on the 1st of October 1964 in Newark, California. He hails from a family of five, composed of his father Kenneth Williams Titus, his mother Juanita Clarice Holmes, as well as two siblings named Shannon and Dave.

Titus grew up in Newark and endured a less-than-ideal childhood. His father was a womanizing and abusive alcoholic who went through several divorces. His mom, on her part, was a drug-addicted schizophrenic. It was expected that his parents’ marriage ended in a divorce.

With that, Titus spent the formative years been passed around his mom, dad, and grandparents; before long, he dabbled into alcohol and drugs. The young boy persisted at these two vices until the fateful day he got intoxicated and fell into a bonfire at a beach party. Luckily for him, some friends came to his rescue and after hospitalization, he vowed to turn his life around. Titus subsequently cleaned-up his act and began doing stand-up comedy at the age of 19.

The show which unflinchingly explored his childhood filled with spousal abuse, mental illness, and alcoholism, was well received by fans. It also birthed a widely-successful eponymous Fox sitcom which ran from 2000 to 2002, and this firmly entrenched him in the limelight.

Since gaining his breakthrough in the early 2000s, Christopher Titus has remained relevant in the comic industry. He has released at least eight comedy specials/albums including The Fifth Annual End of the World Tour (2007), Love is Evol (2009), Neverlution (2010), Voice in My Head (2013), Angry Pursuit of Happiness (2015), Born with a Defect (2017), Armageddon (2018), and Stories I Shouldn’t Tell (2019). The latter chronicles the most outrageous parts of his family’s background, including the fact that his sister (Lisa) and mother both committed suicide.

Asides his comedy shows/specials, Christopher Titus is also a budding actor. The California native has featured in several movies and TV series over the years, including Bad Parents, Remarkable Power, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Scar, Big Shots, CSI: Miami, The Exes, 21 Jump Street, Special Unit, Finding Carter, and The Twilight Zone, etc.

Meanwhile, Titus has disclosed that he uses his family background as his material because it is therapeutic and helps him to cope with his demons. The comic also revealed that it inspires other people as they get to realize that their own families are not nearly as screwed up as his.

Facts About Christopher Titus’ Marriages, Divorce, and Kids

Christopher Titus has endured tough times in his family and love life. The comic was previously married to a lady named Erin Carden. He and Carden commenced their relationship in 1988 and tied the knot in 1991. The two were married for 15 years, during which they welcomed two kids named Kennie Marie (2001) and Jett Evans (2004).

It later turned out that Erin had been cheating on Titus for the majority of their marriage and the comic filed for divorce. The divorce was a long-drawn battle that reportedly cost Titus $2 million, and was finalized in 2006.

The couple sparred over child custody with the comic being estranged from his kids for nearly two years, 2017-2019. Thankfully, Titus has now reconciled with his kids. He has also found love again with Rachael Bradley.

The California native first met Bradley in the course of her work as a comedy booker. They dated for a while and tied the knot in 2013. Since then, Bradley has supported her husband’s career every step of the way. She gives him the impetus to share some of his darkest materials and also co-hosts his eponymous podcast. The lady is also not letting her dreams run away; she is now a comic in her own right and is planning to debut her special.
