Clay Travis is as popular as many American sportsmen and women but is not a professional sportsman himself. Rather, he talks sports and in his own space, is very good at what he does. Travis is recognized as an American sports journalist, television sports analyst, sports radio host as well as a writer. Here is more about his wife, children, and net worth which a lot has not been written about.

Clay Travis Bio

As records have it, his birth was registered in Nashville, Tennessee on April 6, 1979. The names of his parents have not been obtained at this time neither has it been disclosed if or not he has siblings.

However, we know that Clay Travis attended and graduated in 1997 from Martin Luther King Magnet at Pearl High School after which he began studying history at George Washington University where he graduated in 2001. From there, he furthered his education at Vanderbilt University Law School and graduated in 2004.

Travis as a lawyer began his career in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Tennessee. At his time, he also had a personal blog which he put to good use following his 50-day “pudding strike” for being unable to watch NFL games on the island. His blog post about his sad experience went viral. Following this, CBS offered him a job in 2005 as a sports writer. He was with them for some time before leaving CBS to become a writer and editor at Deadspin and later a national columnist at FanHouse.

Clay Travis has also worked at Outkickthecoverage.com which at that time was one of the most visited college football websites, he also worked at D1 Sports and later became the host of a radio sports show known as 3HL on Nashville’s 104.5 The Zone with Brent Dougherty and Blaine Bishop.

With an offer from Fox Sports set before him, Clay joined FOX media giants as the host of its weekly college football Saturday pre-game show. With Fox Sports, he has since then grown into a big brand as a sports journalist with signs of bigger and better things to come his way.

To his credit are books like Dixieland Delight: A Football Season on the Road in the Southeastern Conference, Man: The Book Citadel which he wrote in 2008, On Rocky Top: A Front-Row Seat to the End of an Era that was published in 2009, and 2018’s Republicans Buy Sneakers Too: How the Left Is Ruining Sports with Politics.

He signed an expanded contract with Fox Sports in 2015 which saw him incorporate his Outkick the Coverage website into Fox Sports’ website. In addition, Clay Travis started a weekly television show and a radio show with Fox Sports Radio in 2016. Currently, we learned that the radio show has been extended to run a few more years on FOX.

Net Worth – How Rich Is He?

Having said that Clay Travis is as popular as most of the top sports guys in the United States of America, it is only normal for one to wonder if he is equally as rich as they are. While he is certainly not as rich as the big boys in any sports played in America, Clay still commands respect with a net worth of about $3 million.
