Cole and Dylan Sprouse – Bio, Net Worth, Girlfriends, Family and Facts

We’ve literally watched identical twins Cole and Dylan Sprouse grow up on our screens. The adorable twins captured the hearts of many with their role as identical twins Zack and Cody in the Disney sitcom Suite Life of Zack & Cody, which ultimately earned them the big break of their careers.

Just in case you’re one of those who can’t tell one from the other, Dylan played the role of Zack while Cole portrayed Cody. However, their Disney days are behind them now as the one-time teen idols have now transitioned into adulthood and hope to match their Disney feats in Hollywood.

Cole and Dylan Sprouse Bio

Cole Mitchell Sprouse and Dylan Thomas Sprouse were born on August 4, 1992, in Arezzo, Tuscany, a region in central Italy. Teaching jobs had brought their American parents Matthew Sprouse and Melanie Wright to Europe. However, they didn’t live there long.

Four months after their birth, the entire family returned to their native Long Beach, California. An additional 4 months was what it took before the boys began their show business career, upon the suggestion of their grandmother who taught acting.

Dylan and Cole began appearing in diaper commercials before transitioning to TV. Owing to the California child labor laws that don’t allow kids to be filmed beyond a specific time per day, Dylan and Cole, like most child twins adopted the alternative method of interchangeably playing the same role which allows for more filming time.

Their first TV role was in Grace Under Fire where they both played the main role of Patrick Kelly for 72 episodes. That role ended in 1998 and the boys would go on to play a small role in two episodes of Mad TV.

They made their debut feature film appearance playing the single role of Julian McGrath in Big Daddy (1999) which also starred Adam Sandler. The film thrust the boys into the limelight as they received a number of award nominations but unfortunately didn’t win any.

For the next few years, the boys barely made progress, scoring guest appearances and a couple of direct-to-video films. However, the roles ultimately prepared them for their break which came in 2005 in Disney’s Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

The sitcom was an instant hit, making them Disney stars and members of the Disney Channel Circle of Stars, an 11 member group. While on the show, the boys took up other side gigs including voice roles.

The brothers reprised their roles in the retooled version of the show, titled The Suite Life on Deck. The changes did nothing to hurt the success of the show as it became the most-watched tween/children’s television show in 2008 and 2009.

They also starred in The Suite Life Movie, released in March 2011, as well as other Disney original films including Hannah Montanna, Wizards of Waverly Place, and I’m in the Band.

After the sitcom ended in 2011, the twin brothers decided to go on a hiatus to focus on their education. They enrolled at the New York University from where they graduated in 2015. Cole studied photography while Dylan focused on video-game editing.

They both have since returned to acting. Cole portrays the series regular role of Jughead Jones in the CW sitcom Riverdale. That role won him his first-ever award, a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actor: Drama.

However, Dylan has deliberately chosen to remain subtle in acting. Some of his recent acting credits include Dismissed, indie film, Carte Blanche, and indie comedy Banana Split. He also had a role in the Brooklyn theater production The Illuminati Ball.

Dylan has chosen instead to focus on his love for video games. He voiced a character in RPG and is working on his own animated fantasy series project. He also plays Dungeons & Dragons in a YouTube/Twitch web series. Dylan has also expanded into the business world. Alongside two partners, he plans to open All-Wise Meadery in Brooklyn, NY.

Net Worth: $16 million

During their days playing Zack and Cody, Cole and Dylan were twice, in 2007 and 2010 named the richest children alive. With a combined earning of $40,000 per episode, they were also the highest-paid teenage Disney TV actors.

Their success with the series spawned the Sprouse Bros brand which they formed in collaboration with the Olsen Twins’ Dualstar Entertainment. The brand merchandise included comics series, clothing lines, magazines, and more. The franchise was discontinued in 2008 with only the clothing line left. However, by March 2011, the clothing line was also discontinued.

The twin brothers have a combined net worth of $16 million. In 2012, they bought their family a new house in Calabasas, California.

Girlfriends

The Sprouse brothers have both romanced a number of women in the entertainment scene. Cole began dating Bree Morgan in 2013. They had met at NYU. However, they split in 2015. In 2017, he began dating his Riverdale co-star, Lili Reinhart. Click here for photos of their January 2018 getaway in Hawaii.

Like his twin, Dylan hasn’t been lacking in the love department either. In 2014, he entered into a serious relationship with model Dayna Frazer. They frequently shared photos of each other on their respective Instagram accounts.

However, in August 2017 all hell broke loose when Dayna took to Twitter to reveal that she discovered that Dylan had been cheating on her. She didn’t waste time deleting all traces of Dylan from her socials.

However, Dylan responded in a series of tweets explaining that fans shouldn’t draw conclusions based on the limited information they have on the cheating issue. He didn’t deny cheating but termed the matter as complicated.

Cole and Dylan Sprouse Facts

In 2013, Dylan was spotted working at a restaurant in New York. Rumors began to swirl that he took the job because he had squandered his Disney wealth. However, Dylan immediately debunked them explaining that he took the job to “primarily feed my over bountiful video game addiction” and to “try a new experience.”
