Columbus Short’s Bio (Age)
Short was born Columbus Keith Short, Jr. on the 19th of September 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri. His parents have two other sons John Rancipher and Chris Staples. Short was born with entertainment in his genes and from the age of 3, those genes became evident by Short’s love for entertaining his relatives either by impersonation, dancing, or making silly jokes.
At 5 years old, Short’s family relocated to LA where his mom began working as a talent manager. Short would then begin honing his entertainment skills at a youth theater. He also attended Orange County High School of the Arts and later joined the Broadway tour of Stomp, a UK percussion group.
In 2004, Short began his acting career playing the small role of a dancer in You Got Served. The actor was first married at an unknown time to a certain Brandi Short and they were divorced by 2003, a time when he had not surfaced in the entertainment industry. They had one daughter named Ayala. Two years after that divorce, Short wedded dancer Tanee McCall.

According to her filing, Short threatened to kill her and himself. She also got a restraining order against him.
The actor admitted to physically assaulting his wife and faced jail time, however, he escaped by pleading guilty. In order to avoid jail time, Short also pleaded no contest to a felony assault charge for punching a man at an LA restaurant in September 2015. For his punishment, he was sentenced to three-year probation including two months of community labor and anger management counseling.
Short found love again in Aida Abramyan and married her in 2017. However, he didn’t quite get his bad behavior together as reports surfaced that he had physically attacked her in November 2017, a few weeks after their wedding. His wife Aida would come to refute the claims via social media.
