Cordarrelle Patterson is a versatile American football player who can play as either a return specialist or running back, however, his preferred position appears to be that of the wide receiver.

The New England Patriots player, selected in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, is better known for setting the record for longest kick return with 109 yards, the longest possible, amongst other records in the big league. He is a two-time pro bowl returner and a member of the 2013 Professional Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team. Read on to find out more about his personal life and career.

Cordarrelle Patterson Early Life and Career

Cordarrelle Patterson was born on the 17th of March, 1991 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He was raised by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to provide for him and his two older siblings. Despite the struggles of life, Patterson was able to find solace in sports, as he excelled in football, basketball, and ran track.

As a student at Northwestern High School, Patterson competed in all three sports and was easily head and shoulders above every other player in the school. In his senior year, he caught 75 passes for 944 yards with 18 touchdowns to earn an All-State selection and also helped his team get to the State Class 4A Division II championship game. Patterson’s on-field success, however, did not match his work in the classroom, meaning that he did not have the grades to attend Division 1 college program. Because of this, he had to spend a year at North Carolina Tech Christian Academy, however, he was still not able to attend a division 1 school right away due to NCAA rules. The young man was then left with no choice but to transfer to Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas, where he would get to play junior college football.

During his two years at Hutchinson, Cordarrelle Patterson earned two National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American selections, the 2011 Jayhawk Conference Offensive Player of the Year, among other school and conference records, which propelled many Division 1 team to come calling for his signature. He went on to accept the scholarship offer from the University of Tennessee and got his wish of playing Division 1 college football. Patterson had an instant impact on the team as he went ahead to set a Tennessee school record in all-purpose yards from 12 starts.

After that season, Patterson announced his intention to forgo his remaining college year and declared for the 2013 NFL Draft where he was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 29th overall pick as the rest became history.

What is Cordarrelle Patterson Salary?

Since agreeing on a new 2-year deal worth $8.5 million in 2017 with the Oakland Raiders, Cordarrelle Patterson has been receiving an annual average salary of $4.25 million. Prior to that agreement, the wide receiver was earning $1.8 million per year from the 4-year $7.22 million contract he had with his former team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Girlfriend, Children

Cordarrelle Patterson is in a long-term relationship with the mother of two of his three kids, Taylor Quick. Patterson reportedly first met Quick sometime in 2013, around the time he began playing in the NFL for the Vikings. It is not clear how exactly the two met but they have since remained inseparable and appear to be head over heels in love. Unlike most other NFL players who might prefer to keep things private, Patterson does not shy away from showing off his prized possession on his social media, a testament to how he truly feels about his better half.

In November 2013, Patterson and Quick welcomed their first child together, a daughter they named Cienna. In March 2018, the family added another member, a daughter named Zyana Rachelle. Patterson’s third child is an older son named Avian, born in October 2012 from a previous relationship.

Cordarrelle Patterson is not the tallest person you would ever come across, although, with a height of 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m), he is certain to never be the shortest man in any room. The wide receiver who has a hand size of 9 inches (0.23 m) and arm length of 31 3⁄4 inches (0.81 m), weighs about 228 lbs (103 kg).
