Darius Miller’s Biography

The emerging basketball player was born in Maysville, Kentucky on the 21st of March 1990. Being born in Kentucky makes him an American national but his ethnicity is not known. There is little information regarding the details of his family background but according to the records, his mother’s name is Nicole Miller while Brian Miller is his father.

Miller accomplished his high school education at Mason County High School and recorded an average of 19.9 points, 2.9 steals, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists for each game played. The young and vibrant basketballer led his high school team to the 2008 State Championship. He bagged the prestigious title of Kentucky Mr. Basketball, known as the KHSAA’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Year after his high school senior season. A reliable media outlet – Rivals.com considered him a four-star recruit and in 2008, he got listed as the No. 42 player in the nation and No. 8 forward.

After his graduation from high school, the talented basketball player enrolled at Kentucky University where he played active college basketball. On May 4th, 2012, when the Kentucky Wildcats visited the White House following their 2012 National Championship Victory, Miller was selected to present dedicatory Kentucky Jersey and a championship ring to the then president of the United States, President Barack Obama. The president, in turn, recognized Miller as the only Kentucky player to earn the Mr. Basketball title, claim an NCAA title with the University of Kentucky, and bag a KHSAA state championship. The Wildcats champion played more games than any other player in the history of Kentucky University.

NBA Career

The young basketball player’s NBA career started in 2012 when he was picked as the 46th overall in the NBA draft of 2012 by the New Orleans Hornets. The rising star went into a multi-year contract with the Hornets on the 22nd day of August 2012, but that same year, precisely on December 31, he was reassigned to Iowa Energy. Miller was barely a month old with the Iowa Energy on January 27, 2013, when he was called back to the Hornet Basketball team which was renamed the Pelicans in April 2013.

After signing another contract with the Pelicans on the 25th of July 2014, he was waived four months later – on 30th November 2014. The basketball player opted over another D-league player for a place on the Clippers team on the 16th of January 2015.

Miller left the NBA to the Brose Bamberg of Germany where he signed a contract for the 2014-2015 season with them in February 2014. He signed for an extra season with the Brose Baskets on 28 July 2015. In June 2016, Miller entered into a two-year contract extension with Bamberg. He eventually left Bamberg on the 19th of July 2017 in order to return to the NBA.

Upon his return to the National Basketball Association, the famed basketball player signed a new contract with the New Orleans Pelicans on 27th July 2017 as he returned to the franchise for another stint. He recorded a career-high of 21 points in a match against the Atlanta Hawks which ended in 106-105 with the Hawks on the losing side.
