American football quarterback Davis Webb currently plies his trade with the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). Davis Webb Bio

Davis Matthew Webb was born in Prosper, Texas, United States of America, on the 22nd of January, 1995. The names of his parents are Matt Webb and Donna Webb. More information about his childhood and parents is not known because Davis is a very private person who chooses to keep his private life away from the spotlight.

Notwithstanding, his education, he was enrolled at Keller High School where he started playing football as a teenager. He later transferred to Prosper High School located in his hometown of Prosper, Texas. In Prosper High, Davis was under the tutelage of coach Kent Scott which ultimately led to Davis aiding his team to advance from the district championship to the Texas 4A regional semifinals.

His performance was unprecedented and earned him a whole lot of accolades and recognition. Some of these recognitions include being named first-team All-District as a junior and an honorable mention All-State. Before graduating from high school in 2012, Davis Webb did well to achieve 2,658 passing yards, 589 rushing yards, and 36 touchdowns.

NFL Career

Fresh out from high school, he was signed by the “Texas Tech Red Raiders” after he was ranked as a 4 -star prospect by ESPN 013. In 2013 while he was a freshman in college, Webb played double roles at alternating times. He sometimes played as a starter and backup quarterback for Baker Mayfield who was also a fellow freshman. While playing for the team, he came down with an unidentified ailment which made him lose over 40 pounds in a few days before the start of a new season but he quickly recovered. He made his very first appearance in one of the contests against TCU and made an outstanding run as he threw the winning touchdown to Bradley Marquez who was the wide receiver at the time.

Davis Webb later announced on the 27th of January 2016 that he would be transferring from Texas Tech to the University of Colorado Boulder. However, he changed his mind and transferred to the University of California, Berkeley instead of the University of Colorado. By the 25th of May 2016, Coach Sonny of Dykes made the announcement that the deal for Davis’ transfer had been completed and that he was eligible to start playing for the “California Golden Bears” immediately. Webb performed impressively well as he completed 382 of 620 passes (62%) for 4295 yards, 37 touchdowns, and twelve interceptions for a 135.63 QBR during his one season at California.

After the completion of his college education, Davis Webb’s career took another dimension when he was selected by the New York Giants in the third round (87th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, which made him the fifth quarterback to be selected that year. He was subsequently signed by the New York Giants on the 11th of May 2017 to a contract worth $3.53 million for a four-year period, with a guaranteed signing bonus of $766,420.
