Dominic Solanke Bio

Born Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell in Reading, England, the young and tactical attacker was born and brought up in England. He attended the Brighton Hill Community School for his education and had his eyes set on soccer.

Like a lot of other soccer stars that you know, Solanke began playing soccer when he was a child. And in order to pursue his career, he joined the Chelsea youth club in 2004 and remained there for the next 10 years before gaining the promotion to play for the senior team. In order to help him gain more experience, he was sent on loan to Vitesse where he remained until 2016.

Soon after his return, he made a move to the Merseyside when he was signed on by Liverpool FC after an intense drama which saw him exiling himself from Chelsea because he wanted to leave the club. Before he left, he was the youngest Chelsea player to ever play in the Champions League after he made his debut in a 6-0 win against NK Maribor when he replaced Oscar in the 75th minute of the game.

In a team with players such as Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mané, having first place on the team has sure been difficult for him, but he has still done himself some good thus far at Anfield.

Looking at his international career, Dominic Solanke attracted both Nigeria and England with his style of play and both countries had wanted him to play for them as he was eligible to play for either of them. Fortunately for England and unfortunately for Nigeria, he decided to play for the country of his birth over that of his father, since he has been playing for England long before Nigeria came for him.

His first call to play for England was at the Under-16 level in 2012. The next year, he was invited to join the Under-17 team and he was very impressive recording 11 goals in 14 games, helping the team to win the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

After also playing for the Under-18 and Under-19 teams, he was invited to play for the England Under-20 team in 2016, becoming a part of the team that was invited to the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea. At the tournament which was won by England, Solanke was named the best player of the World Cup scoring 4 goals in six games.

Solanke’s hopes of playing for the Three Lions came true after he got the call to play for the England national team in 2017. He made his debut in a friendly match against Brazil. Although he didn’t get to make it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, there is no denying the fact that the former Chelsea player has a future with the Three Lions.

Parents

Dominic Solanke is not one of those players that a lot is known about them as he prefers to keep his life almost completely away from the public. Nonetheless, it is known that he has a Nigerian father and an English mother.

Without so much known about his biological father, Dominic Solanke’s step-father seems to be the one that has played more roles in his life as he was the one that represented him when he wanted to leave Chelsea Football Club.

Even though it is easy to have people think he is related to Tomiwa Solanke who is yet another player in England with Nigerian roots, the two have no blood ties.

Height, Weight, and Body Measurements

The moment he got signed to Liverpool, the talented striker was tipped by many to succeed under Jurgen Klopp because he has everything that the manager needs in a striker including his intelligence, pace, and body build.

That said, he has a good height and a body build that is good for a footballer. In numbers, the Reds star stands at 6 feet 2 inches (1.87 m) tall and he has a weight of ‎165 lbs (75 kg). His overall body measurements have not been provided for even though, from his looks, you can bet he is not only fit but has what you can call generally good body measurements.
