Drew Christopher Brees was born in Austin, Texas, in the United States on January 15, 1979. He was born from the lineage of Athletic stars, his father played basketball for Texas A&M Aggie’s Men’s Team while his mother was an all-state champion in sports during high school. His uncle Marty Akins was an All-Southwest Conference quarterback in 1975 while his paternal grandfather Ray Akins was an all-time great coach in Texas High School football history. He has a younger brother named Reid Brees and they were raised by their father Eugene Wilson Brees II who is a prominent lawyer and their mother Mina Ruth Akins who is also an attorney.
At the age of seven, his parents got divorced and were granted equal custody of their two children. This made Drew and his brother share their time in both parents’ homes.
