There are comedians who have to do a lot to crack up you up, some just show up, stand there and their mere presence gets us hysterical. Eddie Murphy is one of the latter.

Eddie Murphy Bio, Height
Born as Edward Regan Murphy in Brooklyn, New York, Eddie lost his dad at the age of eight and had to spend a year in foster care. His dad Charles Edward was an amateur comedian and actor on the sides but had a full-time job as a police officer.
After the death of his father, Eddie and his older brother were raised by their mum and stepfather Vernon Lynch, who was a foreman at Breyer’s ice cream plant.
Eddie schooled at Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School where he made a name for himself as an outstanding comic. At the age of fifteen, he had started getting gigs as a stand-up comic on the streets of New York. His style was distinct for rendering dead-on impressions of celebrities and making jokes out of the simple things of life.
At the age of 19, Murphy was offered a contract for the Not-Ready-For-Prime-Time Players on Saturday Night Live. He played characters including a grown-up version of the Little Rascals character Buckwheat, Mr. Robinson, and a morose, cynical Gumby. Murphy made his feature film debut in 48 Hrs. In 1984, Murphy starred in Beverly Hills Cop, this was well and truly his breakout performance, the film transformed Murphy into a box-office superstar and most notably, made him a celebrity worldwide and it remains one of the all-time biggest domestic blockbusters in motion picture history. It actually grossed over $230 million at the box office and as of August 2012 was 41st in the list of all-time total U.S. box office grossers.
If Beverly Hills Cop was the movie that announced Eddie Murphy on the big stage, then Coming to America (shot in 1988) established him on the sure footing on the global stage. As Eddie got older, he retreated to more family-oriented humor with Doctor Dolittle, Mulan, Bowfinger, and the animation Shrek. Throughout the 2000s, he starred in more hit productions such as The Haunted Mansion, Shrek 2, Dreamgirls, Norbit, Shrek the Third, and Shrek Forever After.
It’s fair to say Eddie Murphy is an all-around entertainer. He also tried his hands at music and didn’t do badly. In the 80’s he had two hit singles to his credit Party All the Time and Put Your Mouth On Me. Eddie went on to record a full album in the early ’90s. The album was titled – Love’s Alright.
