Emmanuelle Sophie Anne Chriqui better known as Emmanuelle Chriqui is a Canadian film and television actress known for her role as Lorelei Martins in the TV series, The Mentalist and for her portrayal of Daila, the love interest of Adam Sandler’s character in You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.

The Canadian beauty also starred in these 2014 movies, Fort Bliss, A Short History of Decay, Men at Work and Beware the Batman. She also played the role of Veronica in the drama Cleaners.

Emmanuelle Chriqui’s Biography

Emmanuelle Chriqui was born on December 10, 1975, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to her parents Liliane and Albert Chriqui. Her nationality is Canadian while she belongs to the Sephardi, Jewish ethnicity. While her father was born in Rabat, her mother hails from Casablanca both in Morocco. However, when she was only 2, her Moroccan parents moved to Toronto, Ontario and that was where she was raised alongside her two older siblings; her brother Serge and sister Laurence.

She graduated from Unionville high school where she took drama classes. Her interest in acting was however fuelled by her mother who encouraged her to take it up as a career. Unfortunately, her mother who geared her towards that path died when she (Emmanuelle) was 16 before she could even make headway in her career. That notwithstanding, she has grown over the years into a prominent actress that is widely acclaimed for her talent and skills.

Acting Career

When she was just 10, Emmanuelle’s acting career took off with her appearance in a McDonald’s commercial. She further did a few more commercials but that was not what she wanted. With her eyes set on her aspirations, to become a big-screen actress and moved to Vancouver in 1990 where she audited for shows. Even though it meant taking up a job as a waitress to make ends meet before her future comes, she did.

Afterward, Emmanuelle got a few guest roles in TV series like Are You Afraid of the Dark (1990), and Once a Thief (1996), Forever Knight, Psi Factor. Movies such as Unwed Father (1997) and Principal Takes a Holiday (1998) honed her acting skills. She made her Hollywood debut in the movie Detroit Rock City (1999) and came into the limelight with her appearance in the 2000 movie, Snow Day.

She has since appeared in television series and movies including Principal Takes a Holiday, Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County, Futuresport Gonzales, 100 Girls (2000), Rocky 6 (2000), a lead role in On the Line (2001) where she co-starred with Lance Bass and Joey Fatone. Others are Wrong Turn (2003), The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2003), Waiting (2005), and a lead role in Adam and Eve (2005).

Emmanuelle caught her audience’s eyes when she portrayed Sloan in the HBO’s TV show, Entourage (2005). TV series such as Kung Fu, Traders, The Adventures of Sinbad, Killing Jesus, Murder in the FirstShut Eye and The Grinder have also witnessed her skills.

In The Mix, You Don’t Mess With Zohan, Waltzing Anna, August, Cadillac Records, Women in Trouble, Taking Chances, 13, and the sequel for the 2009 Women in Trouble, The Borgias (2010) are among her many works.

Recognitions

Emmanuelle Chriqui has been able to prove that her works and appearances on the silver screen are no child’s play. For her performance in 100 Girls, she earned a nomination for Best Actress at the Video Premier Awards. In addition, she was nominated for the Choice Liplock Teen Award for the movie On the Line with Lance Bass.

She gained more prominence among fans and the common people after she won the Standout Performance Trophy at the Young Hollywood Awards in 2008.

She started dating Adrian who she calls her man-crush on 26 September 2013. They met through a mutual friend, became friends, and eventually started dating.
