He was raised by his parents Rowann Villency, who is a mixed media artist, and his father, Robert Villency who is the chairman of Maurice Villency, a design firm that was formed by his grandfather Maurice Villency in 1932. Eric is a well-educated fellow; he graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin.

Career

When he left Wisconsin university, Eric started his career as a businessman and interior designer, taking over the family business and moving it to the next level. He was appointed the CEO of his grandfather’s company Villency Design Group in 1998. His immense contribution has resulted in various successes recorded by the multi-national company till date.

His company was recognized as a leader in design and fashion in 2001 and in 2002, they began to expand with the launching of Maurice Villency Flagship store for home accessories collections. The shop is located in midtown, Manhattan and four years later in 2006, Eric launched another design and fabrication workshop called Villency Atelier. In 2008, the talented businessman launched the company into its current business of production and sales of pure design furniture collections. To date, they are one of the leading companies in the American furniture industry.

Asides from his business, Eric has also promoted several projects including the Giuliani Urgent Care Unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital, office for Kathy Lee Gifford, the Bryant Park Hotel, and an indoor fitness cycle called SoulCycle among others.

Eric is the host of Fine Living Channel’s show titled iDesign and he is currently the producer and host of the documentary series for emerging fashion designers titled INSEAM.

Additionally, he has been contributing to best Life, Women’s Health, Departures and others on Huffington Post. He has equally worked as a model; he created a fashion brand titled Restoration of the Monarchy in 2007 with Carine Roitfeld as the face of the Purple Magazine advert for the brand.
