American news anchor and journalist Erin Burnett have been a professional journalist since 2003 and she has worked for MSNBC, NBC, CNBC, and CNN. Burnett was born Erin Isabelle Burnett on July 2, 1976, in Mardela Springs, Maryland where she was raised on a farm on the eastern shore of Chesapeake Bay by her parents; Esther Margaret (née Stewart) and Kenneth King Burnett, who is a corporate attorney. Erin was born as the youngest daughter of her parents, she has two older sisters, Mara and Laurie. Raised as a Catholic, Erin’s ethnicity has been traced to Scotland and Ireland.

For her high school education, Erin left home and moved to Middletown, Delaware where she attended a private co-educational college preparatory boarding school named St. Andrew’s School. She graduated in 1994. Erin then studied political science and economics at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in political economy in 1998.

During her college years, Erin was an active athlete with a berth on the varsity lacrosse and field hockey teams. In her senior year, Erin as a hockey player earned Second Team All-NESCAC conference honors.

Fresh out of college, Erin began her career with Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division as a financial analyst. She focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate finance. Her stay at Goldman Sachs was short-lived as Erin, following an application to CNN, got employed by the network to work as an assistant to journalists Willow Bay and Lou Dobbs. Erin also wrote and booked for CNN’s Moneyline with Stuart Varney but also didn’t remain with CNN for long as she soon left for a vice president position at Citigroup’s digital media startup group CitiMedia.

In addition to the prime-time show, Erin also anchors the weekly Erin Burnett OutFront International on CNN International. She serves as CNN International’s Chief Business and Economics Correspondent.

Some of the hot breaking news topics that Erin has covered for CNN include; the Paris and Brussels terror attacks. The seasoned anchor has reported extensively on matters concerning the Middle East. Her hour-long CNN documentary, “The Truth About Benghazi” included reports on the US national security issues as well as coverage of Al Qaeda’s development in North Africa.

During the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections Erin, traveled the country interviewing major candidates.

Her Salary

When Erin changed boats to CNN, her contract was said to be worth $2.5 million annually. The New York Post (now Page Six) revealed that her contract with CNN includes a clause that says her show must run at prime-time.

So when CNN’s new CEO, Jeff Zucker, sought to move her to the early morning time slot in March 2013, Erin requested for a hefty buyout of over $2.5 million. Following unsuccessful negotiations between her and the new president, Erin remained in her prime-time slot. Her salary has enjoyed an exponential increase over the years and as at the time of this report, it has peaked at $6 million

Erin is married to Citigroup’s managing director David Rubulotta. They met on a blind date in 2003 and after a long-term relationship, they became engaged in September 2011. The couple waited over a year before tying the knot on December 21, 2012.

Rubulotta, before joining Citigroup worked as a trader for the Lehman Brothers. On November 29, 2013, the couple welcomed their first issue, a son whom they named Nyle Thomas Burnett Rubulotta. They then welcomed a daughter, Colby Isabelle on July 18, 2015. Reports surfaced in March 2018 that Erin was expecting baby number 3.

Height and Body Measurements
