Everson Griffen – Bio, Wife, Height, Weight, Body Measurements

Our favorite thing about Everson Griffen is his nickname – The Freak. Needless to say, he has lived up to the name as a defensive end for the Minnesota Vikings since he got drafted by the Minneapolis, Minnesota-based team in 2010.

Even before the Vikings came for him, there was little or no doubt about him deserving the badass epithet. It was pretty obvious he is a tough guy, his strength was impressive as much as his speed, and the combination of those attributes made him a beast everyone is pleased to watch while attacking to defend the run.

Although the suitability of Everson’s height for the game has often been described as “just average” with many analysts highlighting that he’s inconsistent and sometimes, lacks the competitive drive, his strengths have always trumped the weaknesses. This was why he had a handful of universities calling to have him have his college career with them and equally the reason the Purple People Eaters wasted no time in picking him after he announced his decision to abandon his final year in college and avail himself for the 2010 NFL draft.

Mr. Griffin was picked in the fourth round by the Vikes, he was the 100th overall selection and was fantastic in his first four seasons (2010 – 2013) with the team, the next (2014) saw him ink a juicy 5-year contract that extended his stay with the team. The deal which was worth $42.5 million came with a massive $20 million guaranteed. He improved on his performance in the next few years and became a crucial member of the Vikes team. It was only normal for the team to renew his contract and hand him better pay. This time, in 2017, he got a four-year deal extension worth $58 million with more than half of the amount ($34 million) guaranteed.
