Grant Show – Biography, Facts, Movies and TV Shows

There are many actors in Hollywood that you don’t get to hear of very often but they are always there, doing one great thing or the other and so, you never get to forget about them. One of such is Grant Show who is popular for his roles in many TV shows like Melrose Place, Point Pleasant, and Dynasty.

He made his break into the show business when he appeared in the soap opera Ryan’s Hope. From then onwards, he has steadily built an enviable career with more than 50 movies and TV shows to his name.

Grant Show – Biography

It was as Grant Alan Show that the actor was born in Detroit on Feb. 27, 1962. He was partly brought up in Detroit where his father worked as a local police officer until his teenage years when the family relocated to San Jose, CA.

While he was growing up, he suffered bullying, especially in his junior high school. This would later stop when he started having an idea of becoming a wrestler and a basketball player in his senior high school.

Although he was athletic and wanted to go into sports, the problem he had was that he did not getting along with the popular kids. Instead, he found himself moving along with those in the theatre and together with them, he took various theatre productions, changing his passion to a whole new direction towards something he hadn’t dreamt of at first.

After his graduation from high school, Grant Show went to the University of California where he started his show business more serious than ever. In 1984, he made his TV debut when he appeared in Ryan’s Hope as Rick Hyde, a role that he would continue until 1987. This was the first role that also sold him out as an actor.

Movies And TV Shows

Since his role in Ryan’s Hope, Grant Show has come to appear in close to 60 other movies and TV shows. His first film appearance was as Randy in the 1992 film A Woman, Her Men, and Her Futon, This was followed much later in 2004 by Marmalade in which he played Aiden. In 2007, Grant was in the very popular Gregory M. Wilson movie, The Girl Next Door as Mr. Moran and then in 2009, he was in All Ages Night as Jeff Markham.

2011 was very busy for him as he was in Action Figures and Born to Race, as well as in the short films Fxxxen Americans and Fxxxen Americans. Mindfield was the short film he took up in 2012 followed by The Possession as Brett. In 2014, Show appeared as Jimmy Kendall in Born to Race: Fast Track.

He has even gained more popularity on TV where he appeared in many more shows and TV movies. Some of his most popular appearances include the 1989/1990 series True Blue, Melrose Place (1992 to 1997), Strong Medicine (2004), and The Family (2016).

He was in the TV movies When We Were Young (1989), Pretty Poison (1996), Ice (1998), Sex and the Single Mom (2003), and Justice for Natalee Holloway (2011). His most recent roles are in the series The Family (2016) in which he takes the role of Governor Charlie Lang and prime time television soap opera Dynasty which has been running since 2017. He is playing the main role of Blake Carrington in the series.

1. Married life

As regards his married life, Grant Show has walked down the aisle twice. The first time he got married was in 2004 to Pollyanna McIntosh. He met the actress and model in 2003 when they were in Lane Bryant commercial together. Soon afterwards, they began dating before getting married a year later. Their union lasted until 2011 when they went their separate ways following a divorce.

Next, he got married to Katherine LaNasa in 2012, only a month after they were engaged. Since then, the two have remained together.

2. Children

From both his marriages, Show has only one child, Eloise McCue Show. She was birthed to him in 2014 by his second wife Katherine LaNasa.

3. Net Worth

As regards the net worth of Grant Show, there are some sources that put it at a mouth-watering $71 million dollars. However, that has not been confirmed.

4. Height

Show is a man who has a good height, standing at ‎5 feet 10 inches (1.78m).
