Harry Kane is an English-born professional footballer who plays as a forward for English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur and for the English national team, the Three Lions. He joined the Spurs as a young lad and made his way through the club’s youth system before breaking into the senior team in 2011.

The 2014-15 season was Harry Kane’s breakthrough season as he was named as the Premier League Player of the Month for January and February 2015 becoming the 4th player to win the award for 2 successive months. Harry Edward Kane was born on July 28, 1993, to Kim and Patrick Kane in Walthamstow, London. He was raised alongside one sibling, an older brother named Charlie. He is partly Irish as his father is originally from the Irish city of Galway. The young Kane had his early education at Larkswood Primary Academy and later he also schooled at Chingford Foundation School. Growing up, Harry Kane, alongside other members of his family, were ardent fans of Tottenham Hotspur as they lived just 15 minutes away from the Spurs’ training ground.

As a child, Kane joined Ridgeway Rovers football club after which he moved on to the Arsenal youth academy as an 8-year-old. He spent only one season at Arsenal before moving to Tottenham Hotspur. He was not accepted by the Spurs initially, however, he got a second shot with the Spurs at the age of eleven.

Kane played for the Spurs’ under-16 team and under-18 squads before making his way to the first team as a substitute. He signed his foremost professional contract with Tottenham Hotspurs in the summer of 2010. Harry Kane was the only forward at Tottenham Hotspurs going into the 2015-16 season. He put up an impressive performance which earned him a 3rd Premier League Player of the Month award in March 2016. He equally received the Premier League Golden Boot as he helped his team finish 3rd on the log coupled with a crucial Champions League qualification. Kane maintained his top form into the 2016-17 season as he finished as the top scorer for the season for which he earned a 2nd successive Golden Boot award. For the 2017-18 season, Harry Kane extended his rain of goals beyond the Premier League to the whole of Europe. He was named as Europe’s top goalscorer for the year 2017 as he brought an end to Messi and C.Ronaldo’s 7-year-long supremacy.

Just like his club career, Harry Kane has also been impressive for the English national team. He made his way through England’s under-17 and under-21 teams before breaking into the senior team. On March 27, 2015, Kane marked his senior team debut with a bang as he netted a goal merely 80 seconds after he came on as a substitute in a Euro 2016 qualifying match. He equally proved very instrumental in the team’s successful qualification campaign for the Euro 2016. He was also very instrumental in the team’s successful 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Tottenham star Harry Kane is currently not married. However, marriage is definitely in his plans for the near future. The Tottenham forward is in a long-term relationship with his childhood sweetheart Katie Goodland. Goodland is a fitness instructor and a graduate of sports science.

The relationship between the two dates back to their school days and they have remained together through the football star’s steady rise to fame. In June 2017, during a vacation to the Bahamas, Kane took their romance a notch higher as he proposed to Goodland.
