Here’s What We Know About Jana Duggar and Her Interesting Family Life

Lovers of The Learning Channel (TLC) are most likely well familiar with the channel’s reality TV show 19 Kids and Counting, which was for a long time the highest-rated show on the network. The show, which got canceled in 2015, followed the lives of the patriarch and matriarch of Duggars family, as well as their twenty children, including Jana Duggar.

Jana is the daughter of former Arkansas House of Representatives member Jim Bob Dugger and his wife, Michelle Duggar. She was born in Arkansas on January 12, 1990, alongside her twin brother John-David, who was born just two minutes after her. After joining the family’s reality TV show, Jana quickly became fans’ favorite, with many wondering about her relationship status and what her personal life in general looks like. Here is what we know.

The Interesting Story Behind The Duggar’s Family

Wondering why a couple would have as much as nineteen kids? Well, you should listen to their fascinating story. Her parents had her and her twin brother after miscarrying a child they had planned to name Caleb.

The couple reportedly used contraceptives at the early stage of their marriage (they married when they were 19 (Jim) and 17 (Michelle), four years after being married they welcomed their first child Josh in 1988 and resumed their contraceptive intake. but Michelle conceived their second baby despite the contraceptives. Michelle would later miscarry the baby, and the couple blamed it on the contraceptives and made the big decision to let God have His way with the number of kids He wanted them to have.

The next pregnancy was twins, Jana and John-David. The couple then went on to have a total of 19 kids (ten girls and nine boys) and most likely, counting. So Jana Duggar is the second child and the first daughter of the family. She first appeared on the family’s reality series when it was called 14 Children and Pregnant Again. On the show, Jana Duggar is known for playing the role of a nanny to her younger siblings, nieces, and nephews – a duty she considers as one of her favorite things to do. Her other favorite things include playing the violin, piano, and harp. Her favorite bible verse is  Proverbs 3:5-7.

What Does Jana Do For A Living?

People often wonder what the stay-at-home Jana does professionally asides featuring on the family show. However, her parents first threw a little light on that on her birthday in 2015 when they took to Facebook to dedicate a post to her and her twin John-David. In the post, Jim and Michelle described “Jana as a concert pianist, who is involved in many ministries.”

As usual, critics of the family’s religious lifestyle were quick to lash out on them. While some argued that playing in a church didn’t make her a concert pianist, others asked for proof of where she studied music. Other commenters also asked the parents to release Jana and allow her to live her life.

After the reality show was canceled by TLC due to Josh’s child abuse scandal, Jana and her older siblings excluded Josh and began appearing in a spin-off, Counting On. The show premiered in December 2015 and has been airing to date. More so, Jana Duggar also co-authored a book – Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships, along with three of her sisters (Jessa, Jill, and Jinger). The book revolves around the Duggar’s family, their religious beliefs, social lives, and relationships.

Is Jana Duggar Engaged, Married, Or In Any Relationship?

With four of her younger sisters already married with kids, some fans have become increasingly worried about Jana who is still single. However, Jana has expressed her interest in men but has also said she is in no hurry to walk down the aisle.

She has, however, been linked to many high profile men, including family friend Jonathan Hartono and former NFL player Tim Tebow. However, the rumors of Jana courting these men were never confirmed.

In September 2017, fans began to link her to a family friend identified as Caleb Williams. The rumors of a possible courtship between Jana and Caleb began when Caleb appeared in a family photo posted on the family’s official Facebook page.

Further cementing the rumors that Caleb could be courting Jana is the fact that Caleb’s social media pages have become awash with photos of him and members of the Duggars family, including one with him attending a game with Jana’s dad Jim Bob Duggar. Shortly before Jana was linked to Caleb, she was rumored to be dating Caleb’s brother Jacob Williams. Jacob immediately took to his Facebook page to debunk the rumors.

In April 2019, Jana openly admitted that she has been in relationships with several men but that none of those relationships were so serious to make a public announcement about. She once told in an interview that she is waiting for her Prince Charming, although the waiting process hasn’t been that easy, The Duggar’s daughter said she is willing to do the waiting. We can’t but wish her the very best and prays she finds her dream man very soon.
