Though professionally known as Miley Ray Cyrus, her birth is actually Destiny Hope Cyrus. She picked up her middle name in honor of her grandfather Ronald Ray Cyrus, a Kentucky-born politician while her first name “Miley” was coined from her nickname “Smiley”. Her parents gave her the moniker because she was smiling as an infant.
Miley came from Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia (Tish) Jean Finley’s romantic relationship. While Billy is an iconic country singer, Tish is an accomplished actress with numerous projects to her name. The two tied the knot one year after Miley’s arrival and later had two more children named Braison Cyrus (son) and Noah Cyrus (daughter).
