Background Early Career of John Travolta
John Joseph Travolta is the youngest of six children born to Salvatore Travolta (father) by his wife Helen Cecilia (mother) in Englewood, New Jersey, a suburb of Bergen County, New Jersey. His father was a semi-professional American footballer, later a salesman and an investment partner in a tire company, while his mother was a known actress and singer and later a high school drama and English teacher.
Travolta was schooled at Dwight Morrow High School before he dropped out in 1971 in his junior year. Having no interest in school, he moved to Hudson River, New York and secured a role with a touring and musical company.
His first filmed television role was in the Season 2, Episode 2 of Emergency! in September 1972. The biggest role of his career beginnings was as Billy Nolan in Carrie (1976). Travolta continued making many great movies and films from then on to the present time. Despite experiencing a sustained period of downturn early in his career, he was resilient enough to re-emerge and become even better at playing any role he takes up. They lived together in a house they bought in Islesboro, Maine. Their marriage saw to the birth of three children; a son named Jett and his young siblings Ella Bleu (born in 2000) and the youngest, another son born in 2010 in Florida and named Benjamin.
Before Kelly Preston married John Travolta, she was previously married to fellow actor Kevin Cage from 1985 till they got divorced in 1987. Then came who she had a relationship with but they soon parted ways as became her next lover and went all the way to engage her in 1990. Their relationship ended when he accidentally shot her in the arm.

Is John Travolta Gay?
John Travolta insists that he is not gay amidst claims and accusations that have been labeled against him by his self-declared gay partners.
First, it was Doug Gotterba, a California pilot who claimed he had a six-year gay relationship with him that started in 1981 when they met and it ended in 1992 after Travolta got married to Kelly Preston. Doug further claimed that in the course of their relationship, they embarked on a romantic trip to Kenya, Hawaii and, Amsterdam.
John’s other gay accusations were his male nanny Jeff Kathrein who is rumoured to be his gay partner. He was also accused in 2012 by a male cruise ship staff of making sexual advances on him by stripping off his robe and pushing him thereafter.
The actor has denied all these accusations and maintained that he is not gay.
