Mikey Day Bio, Age
Mikey Day was born Michael William Day in Orange County, California on the 20th day of March 1980. He had his early education at Panorama Elementary School and for high school, he attended El Modena High School. Growing up, Day was very active in the drama program of his high school and he was responsible for creating comedic sketches for the school’s monthly assemblies. For his college education, he attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he bagged a degree in theatre.
After his graduation from college, Day joined the famed Los-Angeles-based comedy troupe The Groundlings which marked the beginning of his career. There, he co-wrote and co-starred on a parody video David Blaine Street Magic which later went viral on YouTube, and shot the talented comedian into instant internet stardom. He equally worked on different stage shows at the Groundlings including Groundlings, In The Study, With The Candlestick, and Groundlings Space Camp.
Mikey Day was on the original cast of Nick Cannon’s sketch comedy series Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘N Out (2005-07) on MTV. He also worked on the short-lived Damon Wayans sketch comedy series The Underground (2006) doubling as a writer and a performer. The multitalented star then had a starring role on the NBC sitcom Kath & Kim remake (2009), however, the show lasted for just one season. He later landed a hosting gig on recurring segments of The Jay Leno Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno which lasted from 2010 to 2013. Day also reunited with Nick Cannon on the Cartoon Network sketch comedy Incredible Crew (2013) show doubling as a writer and producer.
This multitalented TV star reached a major career milestone in 2013 when he was hired as a writer for the 39th season of the popular late-night show Saturday Night Live. Mikey Day performed excellently in his role as a writer and by 2016 he was promoted to a featured performer for the show’s 42nd season. He ultimately joined the main cast of SNL in 2018 at the start of the show’s 44th season.
Beyond his work on Saturday Night Live, Mikey Day has also worked on several other TV shows including Robot Chicken (2014-18), Idiotsitter (2016), and Maya & Marty (2016). He has worked on several telefilms including Brother Nature (2016) and The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special (2017).
Family – Is He Married To A Wife?
Mikey Day might have plans of getting married sometime in the near future, but until that happens, he remains one of TV’s most eligible bachelors. Though unmarried, the multitalented star is unofficially unavailable as he is in a pretty serious relationship with Paula Christensen, an actress, and director. It remains uncertain when this couple actually got together but they seem to have been an item for quite a while.
Christensen was born in Buenos Aires but her family moved to the US when she was still a toddler. She bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater, Dance, and Anthropology from Amherst College in Massachusetts. Just like her famous boyfriend, she studied and performed at The Groundlings. Mikey Day and Paula Christensen have one son together and from all indications, they prefer to keep him away from the limelight.
Is Mikey Day Gay?
As expected, Mikey Day’s job as a comedian involves him mimicking different characters, gay ones inclusive. However, all that is limited to the world of make-believe as they do not in any way represent his own personal preferences. Going by his dating history, it is obvious that the actor-comedian actually prefers people of the opposite sex. Therefore, it is safe to assume that he is straight until he gives us a reason to believe otherwise.
