He has two younger siblings, William and Ben, they all grew up in the city of Plymouth which is located on the South coast of Devon, England.

Daley went to Eggbuckland Community College. He was actually meant to study at an independent school Brighton College on a scholarship basis, but his father turned the offer down because the school was far from their home. He finished his two-year A-level studies in 2012 with good grades but refused to go further to take his International Baccalaureate course because of his preparations for the 2012 Olympics. Before then, he was already a gold medalist at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, Tom was also a guest competitor at the Australian Elite Junior Nationals where he made first place in the platform and second in 3 m springboards. Daley, however, made his highest-profile dives in 2012 when as a poster boy, he set an Olympic record score by winning the bronze medal with 556.95 points. Dustin Lance Black is an American Film and TV producer and director. He is also a screenwriter best known for winning a Writers Guild of America Award and an Academy Award for the 2008 Biographical film Milk.

Like Daley, Lance Black is also an activist, particularly for the rights of the LGBT. In addition, he is one of the founding board members of the American Foundation for Equal Rights.

Dustin was born on June 10, 1974, in Sacramento County in the US State of Califonia. He has two brothers – Marcus and Todd and was raised by his mother Roseana and stepfather Merrill Durant Black.

Dustin Lance Black has written, acted and directed several films such as The Journey of Jared Price, My Life with Count Dracula, Faking It, and lots more. His screenplay Milk won several awards some of which include the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay, Hollywood Film Festival for Screenwriter of the Year, and Writers Guild of America Award for Best Original Screenplay.

On February 14, 2018, Daley with his husband, announced via his Twitter handle that they were expecting their first child via surrogacy and on June 27, the same year, the little boy Robert Ray Black-Daley arrived.

The couple currently lives in London where Daley is busy as an LGBT+ charity Switchboard (UK) patron. The couple is also making a documentary about fatherhood and same-sex surrogacy which is expected to be ready for airing on BBC One in 2019.
