Simply put, Twaimz is one of the many celebrated figures that YouTube created. The YouTuber was doing very well when he suddenly disappeared from the internet, his fans did a lot of digging but Twaimz was plainly nowhere to be found.
Gradually, those awaiting his return started letting go of the hope to have him back, and just when it was as though memories of him is completely buried, the comedic vlogger announced his return just as unexpected as his disappearance was. This, among other things, triggered diverse supposition as to what happened to Twaimz, clearly, people can’t fathom why he abandoned his flourishing career only to return when he was almost completely forgotten.
Also, there has been widespread speculation about Twaimz’s sexual orientation as one would easily find that the YouTuber has a girlfriend just as it has circulated on several quarters that he’s gay.
In view of the foregoing, it is only fair for one to fish out the facts about Twaimz’s life. From the assumptions made about his age to the underlying presumptions about him being gay and the conjectures about what inspired his disappearance from the internet, here are the facts.
How Old Is Twaimz?
First things first, Twaimz’s real, full name is Issa Christopher Tweimeh. He was born on the 13th day of May 1995 and his place of birth was in California. Issa is of Arabic descent and was brought up together with his older sister Nour in San Francisco.
Tales about Twaimz often relate that he was bullied a lot in high school because of his weight and that this got him to make YouTube his only pal. He spent most of his time watching videos on the site before he eventually decided to create his own channel and upload his own videos. While this is not false, it is not totally a factual or rather, complete tale.
Issa’s vlogging endeavors didn’t start on YouTube, we have traced it to Vine. It was on the platform that he earned his earliest followers. He only moved on to YouTube so that he can make longer videos. As far as we can tell, before Twaimz joined YouTube and created his Issa Twaimz channel on the 6th of August 2013, he had been making and sharing videos of his day-to-day life, comedy skits, and lip-synching on Vine.
On the six-second-long video hosting platform, he gathered over 3 million followers. A good number of these guys followed Twaimz to YouTube where he shared longer versions of the kinds of videos he shared on Vine. It was only a matter of time before he amassed a million followers on the channel. As at the time of this report, he could brag about having almost 3.4 million subscribers and over 261 million views.
Is Twaimz Gay?
The YouTube star addressed this issue way back in 2014. He shared a video wherein he expressed that he was never eager to tell people his name is Issa when he was much younger because he feared they would point out that the name is feminine and label him gay.
He went on to talk about him being judged and being called things like “gay” and “fag”. Having said that, he contended that having a physical attraction with someone is love and thereafter, inferred that it’s stupid for people to keep trying to offend him by saying he loves someone (of his own gender).
Although there was a time he talked about having a girlfriend, the video he made on the gay issue was widely received as him confirming that he’s gay. This is so irrespective of the fact that he never specifically stated what his sexual preference was. In all, Twaimz believes it doesn’t matter if he’s gay, straight, or bisexual.
What Happened To Him?
The answer to the question isn’t far-fetched. According to the YouTube star, his skyrocketing fame was what inspired him to quit YouTube and abandon the internet. He explained that the fame he enjoyed came with a bedeviling pull that consistently made it impossible for him to be his normal self – he found himself always striving to live up to the man he has become online. As it started affecting his confidence, making him feel insecure, he had no option but to forsake it all.
As the star is back and has picked up his vlogging endeavors where he abandoned it, we can only hope that he has conquered his demons.
