Famous British comedian Jack Whitehall who is also a TV presenter and a rising actor whose rise to fame dates back to 2008 recently landed the job to host the 2018 Brits Award scheduled for 21 February 2018.
Jack Whitehall Biography
The comedian was born in Westminster, Central London on 7th July 1988. He went to Tower House School in East Sheen of West London before proceeding to Dragon School, Oxford, and Marlborough College. He developed an interest in comedy during his childhood days and as a teenager, he met comedian Jack Dee who he considers a hero in the field.
Whitehall’s comedy career started officially when he performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2008 after he had qualified by winning the Comic Abuse sketch show the previous year. This launched his career and landed him numerous performances which include Channel 4’s Comedy Gala in March 2010, the Montreal Just for Laughs comedy festival, and the Live at the Apollo show which made him be listed among Variety’s magazine top 10 future stars. He has also made an appearance in the show The Big Fat Quiz and like most comedians who often get into trouble for their jokes, Whitehall faced a controversial situation in the show when he made a joke about Queen Elizabeth II that most people did not like.
Aside from his comedy, the talented presenter has also been featured in both television series and films. His first appearance in a sitcom was in 1993 TV series titled The Good Guy in which he played in a single episode the role of Guy McFadyean Jr. This was followed by another single episode appearance in the 1997 series Noah’s Ark as Ben Winston. Other prominent roles he is known for are J.P in the sitcom Fresh Meat which was aired from 2011 to 2016 and Alfie Wickers in the series Bad Education from 2012 to 2014 for which he was the writer and co-producer.
Other series he has appeared in include the sitcom Beehive, Drunk History, Litle Crackers, Psychobitches, Cockroaches, Thunderbirds Are Go, Decline and Fall, Bounty Hunters and the miniseries The Life of Rock among a long list of sitcoms. His film appearances include The Bad Education Movie, Mother’s Day in which he starred as Zack Zimm, Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods in which he did a voice role for the character Asterix and the film The Nutcracker and The Four Realms as Harlequin.

The talented comedian emerged as the winner of the 2007 Amused Moose and Charlie Harthill Special Reserve. He is also a 3-time winner of the King of Comedy, British Comedy Award for 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Nominations he has received include: Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist by the British Comedy Awards 2011, Best Newcomer by Edinburgh Comedy Awards in 2009
and Chortle Best Newcomer in 2008. He also emerged as runner-up in the 2007 Laughing Horse Final and finalist in the competitions So You Think You’re Funny? in 2007 and Hackney Empire New Act in 2008.
