Jacob Basil Anderson is a British actor of Afro-Caribbean descent from his father’s side of the family. His birth record shows he was born on 18th June 1990, in Bristol, England. He grew up in his birthplace until he turned 17, at this time, he relocated to London in pursuit of a career in entertainment.

In the absence of information about his educational background, it is public knowledge that Jacob’s parents’ raised him in a friendly environment. He enjoyed a peaceful home with his siblings and gives credit to his folks for encouraging him to go after his dreams of becoming an entertainer.

The British actor started acting in 2007 and has so far appeared in more than twenty productions, the bulk of which is in television. (2010), Ricky in Demons Never Die (2011), Lloyd in Comedown (2012), Patrick in Offender (2012) and Private Charlie Dawson in Overlord (2018).

In the television department where his career started, Jacob Anderson kicked things off with a role in one episode of Doctors in 2007. The same year brought him two more roles in one episode each on The Bill and The Whistleblowers as Clayton Fortune and Anthony James respectively. Three more TV projects lined up for him in 2008 when he portrayed the roles of Lucien, Dom Parke, and Dean Mitchell in Primeval, Casualty, and Spooks respectively.

The next time Jacob Anderson would be seen on a TV project was in 2011 and he made it count with his depiction of Simon in three episodes of Injustice, followed by his roles as Chugger in Outnumbered (2011). The year 2012 can be classified as a very busy year for the British star. He appeared in Skins, Silent Witness, Episodes and Beaver Falls in the same year (2012).

Hot on the heels of a very busy year, Jacob Anderson hit the jackpot when he landed a role in the widely revered TV series Game of Thrones. He joined the show in season three (2013) and played the role of Grey Worm until the end (2019), appearing in 33 episodes. He also played the role of Steven Coombs in 10 episodes of The Mimic from 2013 to 2014. The actor equally played Dean Thomas in Broadchurch (2013), appearing in 6 episodes and showed up as himself on Saturday Night Live.

Jacob Anderson’s Music Career

His journey into the music arena commenced in 2006 when he worked briefly with some artists like Typesun and Plan B. He penned a deal with Columbia Records in 2013, the same year, he dropped a three-track EP, The Middle Child.

He released his first album You’re a Man Now, Boy, on 26 February 2016 and it went straight to the Official Albums Chart, peaking at number thirty-two. The album, however, slipped off the chart the next week as a result of poor sales.

Known as Raleigh Ritchie in the music scene, he featured on Stormzy’s debut album Gang Signs & Prayer track 13 – “Don’t Cry For Me”. The piece was released on 24 February 2017.

His role as the commander of the Unsullied in Game of Thrones endeared Jacob Anderson to many but while his female fans teemed, the handsome actor was already off the market. He began a romantic relationship with Aisling Loftus in 2011. They dated for a while and finally became husband and wife in December 2018. Due to his love for privacy, nothing much can be said about his marital life but no child has been welcomed by the couple yet.
