The actor is the son of a Carol Lee (mother) and Greg Lee (father). He was born and named Jason Michael Lee on the 25th of April 1970, in Santa Ana, in California, in the United States. Jason was raised by his car dealership manager father and homemaker mother in Huntington Beach along with his older brother called James Lee. The brothers continued to live with their mother after their parents divorced.
The former professional skateboarder attended Ocean View High School but he dropped out to fully pursue a career in skateboarding to the disappointment of his mother. Lee started skateboarding at a young age after his mother bought him a board to help burn some of his excess energy. The actor would get hooked to the sports equipment instantly and spent most of his free hours honing his skating skills. Jason Lee eventually went pro in the late 1980s and became a skating influence until the early 1990s. After a brief-but-prestigious stint, he formally retired from the pro skateboarding circuit in the year 1996. But before he made an exit from the sports arena, he co-founded a company called Stereo Skateboards with co-skater Chris Pastras in 1992. The pair revived the company in 2003 and as of 2013, their names are still on the professional “Classics” team roster.
