Professionally known as Jeremy Piven, Jeremy Samuel Piven, is a Hollywood producer and actor who became a household after he starred as Ari Gold in the comedy series Entourage. Piven is also well known for playing Spence Kovak on Ellen DeGeneres’s sitcom Ellen and for also starring in the British period drama Mr. Selfridge.

Jeremy was born in Manhattan, New York on the 26th of July 1965 He grew up in Evanston, Illinois, and attended Evanston Township High School in Evanston, Illinois.
His parents Byrne Piven and Joyce Hiller Piven were both into acting and taught drama while his older sister Shira Piven is a movie director, who also acts and produces occasionally. Jeremy describes Shira as his first acting teacher. He is from a Reconstructionist Jewish family of Ukrainian-Jewish descent.
After High school, he studied at Drake University Des Moines, Iowa, for two years before transferring to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Piven left Tisch in his senior year to pursue his acting career.
Career
Acting is something he loved from childhood. As a teen, he attended Harand Theater Camp in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, and during this time, he portrayed Bernardo in West Side Story.
He would later train at a theatre workshop, the Piven Theatre Workshop, owned by his parents. Piven also spent one semester at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center’s National Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut.
In 1986, he starred as Spike in Lucas (a romantic drama directed by David Seltzer), which also starred Charlie Sheen, Corey Haim, Courtney Thorne-Smith, and Kerri Green. His first major role came in 1992 when he began playing the role of Jerry on HBO’s The Larry Sanders Show. He discontinued after the second season.
In 1993, he appeared in an episode of the sitcom Seinfeld as George Costanza, he also played Spence, Ellen’s cousin, in the sitcom Ellen. Jeremy starred and served as the producer of ABC’s short-lived drama series Cupid. In addition, he acted in three episodes of Justice League Unlimited, as the voice of Elongated Man.
Jeremy Piven’s big hit came in 2004 when he began playing Ari Gold in the HBO series Entourage. This role earned him Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actor for four consecutive times (2005 – 2008) and he won the awards thrice (2006, 2007, and 2008).
He also received six Golden Globe nominations for the same role and won once (2008). Sexual Accusations
The Entourage star was accused of sexual assault by six different women. In 2017, actress Ariane Bellamar accused Piven of inappropriately fondling her on two different occasions – on the set of Entourage and at the Playboy mansion.
Jeremy denied the accusations stating that it didn’t happen, but this wasn’t going to be the last as another woman Tiffany Bacon Scourby, also came out to allege that the star had attacked her back in 2003, according to her, Piven jumped on her, exposed his genitals, held her hands down and began rubbing it against his body until he ejaculated.
An extra on Entourage, Anastasia Taneie, also came out to allege Piven cornered her in a dark hallway and fumbled her breast and genital; the V area as he forcefully pushed her against a wall. In January 2018, an article on Buzzfeed revealed three more women who came up to accuse Piven of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior.
Piven has denied all allegations, calling them “absolutely false and completely fabricated, but his denials have not been sufficient enough to clear his name.
