Joel Edward McHale was born on the 20th of November 1971 in Rome Italy. He is the middle child amongst three brothers. Though he was born in Italy, his father is an American from Chicago, Illinois. His mother, on the other hand, is a Canadian born in the city of Vancouver.

Joel McHale started his hosting gigs with the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner in 2014. He has also hosted the Independent Spirit Awards in 2011 and the Espy Awards in 2015. McHale announced in January 2018 that he would be launching his talk show The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale on Netflix. It officially premiered on the 18th of February 2018. McHale met his wife Sarah a year after he graduated from the University of Washington in 1995. He had called Sarah’s friend to find out if he could ask Sarah out. She stated it was a fat chance, but she would ask nonetheless. Sarah eventually went on a date with Joel and the relationship developed thereafter.
