The singer, songwriter, and record producer was born Joshua Michael Homme on May 17, 1973, in the United States, Joshua Tree, California. Growing up in a very rich family, music was not his first option as what he wanted becoming instead, was a contractor just as his father.
Josh Homme was brought up alongside an older brother Jason by his parents. He revealed that his mother, Irene was a very listening woman who encouraged her sons to follow the path that made them happy while his paternal grandmother, Camille was the first woman in North Dakota to fly a plane. He has her name tattooed on his knuckles.
When he was little, he saw Carl Perkins once in a concert and thanks to this, he was inspired to start playing guitar. Thus, Homme began playing very early that by the time he was 12, he joined his first band, Autocracy.
He was 13 when he began his first band, Kyuss. The band continued until 1996 when it disbanded after 4 albums and 2 EPs. Following the end of Kyuss, Homme went on to found Queens of the Stone Age after he joined Screaming Trees for a short period as a touring guitarist.
