It is hard to find someone who does not know Kanye Omari West because of his success and controversy alike. He is one of the most established American rappers, record producers, and fashion designers. He is also the head of the record label GOOD Music and the founder of the creative content company DONDA. West is also popular for his outspoken nature better remembered for his remarks about the then president of the United States of America saying ‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people.
You may know the celebrity from the screens because of his public life. How much information do you have on Kanye West’s private life? Do you know about his immediate family including his parents, wife, and children if any? We assume that you do not have the information otherwise you would not be reading this post. In the end, you will have learned more about Kanye West’s mom, wife, daughter, and kids.
Kanye West’s Mother and Her Accomplishments
You might be wondering why we are concentrating on the rapper’s mother and not his father. Well, West was raised by a single mother. The musician was born to Ray West, a former Black Panther and photojournalist and Dr. Donda C. (Williams) West, a former professor of English at Clark Atlanta University, and the chairperson of the English Department at Chicago State University. She retired to become her son’s manager.
The rapper’s parents divorced three years after he was born and his mother moved with him to Chicago, Illinois. Being a professor, she earned enough money to afford her only son a decent life raising him in a middle-class background. She managed to enroll a fashion designer at Polaris High School. As part of an exchange program between universities, Donda moved with her son to Nanjing University in China before returning to the United States.
Donda West believed then the only way to success is professionalism and this was evident when she registered her displeasure by her son’s decision to drop out of school. According to her own words, she commented “It was drummed into my head that college is the ticket to a good life but I have come to learn that some career goals do not require college. For Kanye to make an album entitled College Dropout it was more about having the guts to embrace who you are, rather than following the path society has carved out for you.”
Kanye West’s mom is responsible partly for the rapper’s success in the competitive American entertainment environment. Besides bringing him up to be a responsible man, she supported him in his musical endeavors even becoming his manager. She played this role until she succumbed to her illness in 2007. It is believed she died due to complications associated with the surgical operation she underwent. Some sources say her cosmetic surgical procedure went wrong resulting in her death although the theory was strongly denied.
Kanye West wife and beautiful family
It was unbelievable when it came to the public notice that Kanye West engaged Kim Kardashian. Against the odds, the couples married in 2014 and they are still going strong. Kimberly “Kim” Kardashian West is a successful American television and social media personality, socialite, actress, and model. The couple is considered one of the happiest celebrity couples. Kim has had two failed marriages but it appears she has finally found her true love. They have been together for three years and there are no signs that the relationship will end anytime soon.
Kanye West and Kim have two kids together, a girl North West born on June 15, 2013, and a boy named Saint West born on 5th December 2015. Reports speculate that Saint could be their last child together. Kim has several siblings but Kanye West was born and raised as a single child. Maybe he is trying to correct his lonely background by having two kids but who knows.
The naysayers now have to hide their faces in shame as the celebrity couple is heading to achieve what seems to be an impossible feat among Hollywood couples. They have received acclaim from many for building and keeping their relationship strong and better by the day.
