Bio of Karen Fairchild
Karen Fairchild was born on September 28, 1969, in Gary, Indiana in the United States of America to parents of white American ethnicity. She had much of her growing up and spent her childhood days in and around Marietta, Georgia USA.
A somewhat lacuna exists on a verified educational background of Karen Fairchild. It is not known for certain which high school she attended as well as how large or otherwise her family was. However, it is known that for her college education, she graduated from Samford University in Birmingham Alabama. It was here she met her husband during their time as students in the college. Career
In the mid 90’s, Karen was a member of a Christian vocal group called ‘Truth’ as a performer and was featured as the lead singer in a few of their songs. She later moved from this group and formed a musical duo called KarenLeigh (a coinage of her name and musical partner) with Leigh Cappillino as her one-half.
In 1997, while studying at Samford University, Karen Fairchild met Kimberly Schlapman Roads prior to their moving to Nashville, Tennesse, before Jim Westbrook and Philip Sweet joined their music group in 1998. The group metamorphosed into the musical group called ‘Little Big Town’ in the year 2002 with the four of the former band members constituting the new band members.
The formation of the band was met with success as they were greeted with wide public acceptance and admiration following the launch of their self-titled album in 2002 at the CMA Awards at the time they were signed with Equity music. Their debut album “The Reason Why” rose to No. 1 on the US country music chart of that year. They had some of the biggest hit songs of that time on their first album like “Don’t Waste My Time” and “Everything Changes.” In the year 2006, you will probably remember the likes of “Good as Gone” and get dancing to the tunes of “A Little More You” which were hit songs from their second album The Road to Here.
“Pontoon” contained in their fifth studio album won the Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance in the 55th Grammy Awards ceremony. Karen Fairchild has won a lot of awards in her career with her band, notable among which include Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Digital Song of the Year award for Girls Crush. They have also won the Vocal Group of the Year award in addition to the New Vocal Duo/Group award.
