Karolina Kowalkiewicz is a sensational Polish mixed martial artist born on the 15th of October 1985 at Lodz, Poland. The reason why she is called the Polish Princess is that she is Polish by nationality. The sensational Polish Princess began her career in mixed martial arts at the young age of 16, being trained in Krav Maga. Later on, she got more training in Muay Thai and fought two amateur fights before deciding to make it a professional career.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz became a professional fighter and had her first fight in Poland in May 2012; for more than three years running, she was undefeated with a record of 7 wins and 0 losses. She fought in the KSW Promotion of Poland and was a flyweight champion. In November 2014, she made her U.S debut for Invicta FC. In October 2015, Karolina got a contract with UFC. On her debut match on December 19, 2015, she fought against Randa Markos, successfully winning the fight by unanimous decision.

Next on Karolina’s fight list was Heather Jo Clark which took place on the 8th of May 2016, at UFC Fight Night 87 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Polish Princess won the match via unanimous decision. She then defeated Rose Namajunas on the 30th of July 2016, at UFC 201; winning the match by split decision and becoming the rising name of the mixed martial arts. This rise in fame placed her against Joanna Jedrzeiczyk, a former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Karolina’s aim in this match was to fight for the Strawweight title.

She lost to Joanna by unanimous decision at UFC 205 on the 12th of November 2016. Karolina then faced Cláudia Gadelha on the 3rd of June 2017 at the UFC 212, losing the fight via submission as a result of a rear-naked choke in the first round.

Thereafter, she found hope of victory when she faced Jodie Esquibel on the 21st of October 2017 at UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Till, winning the fight via unanimous decision. On April 7, 2018, at UFC 223, Karolina Kowalkiewicz fought against Felice Herrig. She won the fight by split decision. Karolina fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in both the Strawweight and Flyweight divisions. She is also the former KSW Women’s Flyweight Champion.

The Polish Princess is known for her creative fighting styles which are Muay Thai and Krav Maga. She’s with the Shark Top Team, coached under Zaborowski. Her Mixed Martial Arts record stands at 12 wins and 2 losses in a total of 14 matches. She has been inactive fighting since 2012. As at the July rankings of the Strawweight Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2018, Karolina Kowalkiewicz is ranked number 4.
