1. Kathryn Prescott is a Twin

When Kathryn Prescott was born on June 4, 1991, in the Southgate district of London, England, she didn’t come into the world alone. About 6 minutes later her twin sister Megan was born.

The twin sisters have a younger brother. For their primary education, the sisters attended Palmers Green High School, after which they proceeded to St. John’s Senior School for their secondary education. Twins are known to love the same kinds of things and for Kathryn and Megan, it was no different. As kids, they developed a passion for many things arts, among them, acting. To hone their acting skills, they attended weekly drama classes where they would come to meet their future Skins costar, Lily Loveless.

2. The Prescott Sisters have acted like twins in a couple of films.

Kathryn Prescott and her twin sister Megan began their acting careers together. They made their debut playing twin sisters Amy and Charlotte Wilcox in a 2008 episode of the BBC soap opera Doctors. As they started together, it was only fair that they got their breakthrough together and they did. Their big break came when they acted as twins Emily and Katie Fitch, part of the “second generation” in the third season of the teen drama television series Skins.

They reprised their roles in the 4th season but skipped the next due to the film’s format which limits each generation to two seasons. However, they returned in 2007 for the season 7 finale. Emily (Kathryn’s character) quickly won the hearts of fans as a result of her complex lesbian relationship with her girlfriend Noami Campbell (Lily Loveless) as well as the tense relationship that existed between her and her twin Katie Fitch.

3. While Kathryn went on to pursue a Hollywood career, her sister drifted towards writing and bodybuilding.

After the curtain came down on Skins, the sisters sort of went separate ways, career-wise. Kathryn went on to make guest appearances on TV shows like Monroe (2011), Casualty (2012), Bedlam (2012), and Being Human (2013).

She reprised her role as Emily Fitch in the two-part episode “Skins Fire (2013).” In 2014, she had a recurring role on CW’s Reign. That same year, she starred in a string of short films. Her next major small-screen gig came as the titular character in MTV’s drama Finding Carter which got canceled after two seasons. Kathryn’s next TV gigs would include guest roles in The Dovekeepers and The Son and a recurring role in 24: Legacy.

From 2017, Kathryn Prescott became more active in film. Some of her film credits include; Fun Mom Dinner (2017), To the Bone (2017), Polaroid (2018), and Dude (2018).

On the other hand, her sister Megan became worried about her future in acting and shifted her focus towards writing instead. However, she occasionally features unpopular films. Megan Prescott is now more focused on her career as a bodybuilder. She’s got a lot of muscle now and looks nothing like her days as Katie Fitch.

4. Kathryn Prescott has written and directed a short film about drug addiction among youths.

In order to raise awareness about the opioid epidemic’s devastating effect on America’s youth, Kathryn joined forces with Los Angeles’ Homeless Health Care to make a short film titled Dear You. While promoting the short, Kathryn noted that drug overdose is the leading cause of death among Americans under 50 years of age. The film was released in early 2018.

5. Her sexuality has been debated.

When an actress portrays a gay character, fans immediately become curious about their real-life sexuality. The same was the case for Kathryn when she played the lesbian role in Skins. However, when asked about her sexuality, she bluntly told the media that “Labels are for cans.” She also added that she is not of the belief that “people are defined by their sexuality.” Kathryn has once dated actor Oli (a boy) whom she met while filming Skins.
