American-born singer and songwriter, Kesha, owes her popularity to talent, hard work and persistence. She first gained attention with her unpaid and uncredited appearance on Flo Rida’s song Right Round which became a hit in 2009. Kesha was born in Los Angeles on the 1st of March 1987. She attended both Brentwood High School and Franklin High School where she found it difficult to fit into the academic environment because of her unconventional ways. The rising star only felt useful when she was playing musical instruments like the saxophone or the trumpet in the school’s marching band. After landing a music publishing deal, Kesha’s mom relocated the family to Nashville, Tennessee in 1991.
The young singer learned the art of songwriting from her mom who would patiently sit, discuss and co-write songs with her. Kesha’s mother, Pebe, is a songwriter best known for writing Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You which later became a hit.
Growing up, Kesha has always answered with ambiguity when faced with questions about her sexuality. In 2013, she told Seventeen Magazine that she does not just love men, she loves people and gender should not be an issue.

Weight Gain
The talk about the entertainer’s weight gain has caused her more harm than anybody can imagine. Kesha’s health was endangered as a result of the media attention on her weight and it was so hard to cope that she found refuge in a rehabilitation home because of a resultant eating disorder. She battled with anorexia and bulimia, resulting from all the criticism about her newly robust body figure, even her producer Dr Luke cruelly compared her body to that of a refrigerator and told her to lose some weight after signing her on.
