King Princess is a multitalented American singer who hit the music scene almost suddenly with her rather queer pop music that on one end comes with subtle indifference and on the other, heartbreak. Although she only took up music professionally in 2015, she has attained a height with her songs that not too many would get to reach, or maybe not that fast.

King Princess was born on December 19, 1998, as Mikaela Straus in New York City. Her father Oliver Straus is a recording engineer and the owner of Mission Sound studio, as such, she was in contact with music from a very young age. A better part of her childhood was spent in the studio with her father, learning various instruments and production techniques.
She grew up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and in search of a hobby, she took theater class when she was young. The main thing that influenced her, however, was the time she spent in the studio which helped her to meet different big names in music including Missy Elliot and Sia who the young singer witnessed when she was writing songs.
For her education, she moved to the University of Southern California in L.A. to study music after her graduation from high school. While she was there, she was often shuffling from the studio as she kept working on her music to campus.
Her parents were very much in support of her dreams of becoming a musician but they also wanted her to at least go to college. As a result of this, she continued to shuffle, remaining in the studio until 3 a.m. and then returning to campus by 8 a.m.
King Princess grew up providing background vocals for different artists but professionally, she started her career as a singer in 2015. She released her first EP Make My Bed in 2018. The work had singles such as Talia which was certified Gold as well as 1950 which was certified Gold and Platinum.
After the release of her first track 1950, Harry Styles made tweeted some lyrics of the song to his followers that are over 32 million. It almost changed the fortunes of King overnight as the song got massive streams across platforms.
At the start of 2019, she emerged as the runner-up of the BBC sound of the year. In the same year, she also made the DIY magazines Class of 2019.

When it comes to her relationship and sexual orientation, King Princess is gay. She revealed that she has always been gay for as long as she can remember.
