Kirstie Alley is a comedian and actress who is famous for her appearance in productions such as the NBC sitcom Cheers, Veronica’s Closet, and Look Who’s Talking. Apart from being an actress, she is also a spokesmodel. Kirstie Alley Bio
The American actress was born Kirstie Louise Alley on January 12, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas. She was brought up alongside two siblings, Colette and Craig by their parents, Lillian Mickie and Robert Deal Alley. She had her education from the Wichita Southeast High School and from there, she moved to Kansas State University.
Only after a year in college, she called it quits to pursue Scientology as well as to work as an interior designer. And because of this, she moved to Los Angeles where she got her first TV appearance in Quark where she was given an uncredited role in 1978.
The first film she appeared in was Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan in 1982. In the film, she played the role of Vulcan officer Lieutenant Saavik. The next year, she played a role in One More Chance, followed by Champions, Blind Date, and Runaway all in 1984. She would go on to appear in many more movies, also co-producing Nevada (1997) in which she also appeared. Her most recent films are Back by Midnight and Accidental Love in 2004 and 2015 respectively.
Kirstie Alley had done more on TV where she appeared in many successful works such as Masquerade from 1983 to 1984, North and South (1985-1986), Cheers (1989), Veronica’s Closet which she also co-produced from 1997 to 2000, and Scream Queens (2016). In 2018, she took part in the British Celebrity Big Brother where she finished as a runner-up. Before the show, she appeared in season 12 of Dancing with the Stars where she ended as a runner-up in 2011 before being eliminated after she returned for season 15 of the show.
Alley has enjoyed what can easily be described as a very successful acting career with over 70 appearances to her name and many nominations and awards. She won a Golden Globe Awards for Cheers, and two People’s Choice Awards for the same show, and David’s Mother, and 2 Primetime Emmy Awards.

She has also made money from her weight loss product which she began through the company she founded in 2010, Organic Liaison. Although she would be made to pay settlements of $130,000 for false advertising by adding “Proven Products” in the terms of her product, she continued the company which was later acquired by Jenny Craig who also has a company in the same line.

In her personal life, Alley claimed that the hardest decision she has ever had to make was not sleeping with John Travolta has been married twice. Her first marriage which was to Bob Alley in 1970 only lasted 7 years before she went on to marry Parker Stevenson in 1983 and then divorcing in 1997. She has two children to show for her second marriage; William True and Lillie Price.
Although she was born into a Methodist family, Kirstie Alley joined the Church of Scientology in her late twenties and has since remained a member of the religion. She has gone on to be a strong voice for defending the religion which also has famous individuals including Tom Cruise, Elisabeth Moss, and John Travolta as members.
Kristie has also contributed financially to the religion which is based on the teachings of a science fiction writer, L. Ron Hubbard, promising to open one up to understanding one’s true spiritual nature and relationship to life in general and the material universe, the spiritual universe, as well as the Supreme Being.
Is She Dead or Alive?
Inasmuch as she has not been the most popular face on the screen of late, Kirstie Alley is still very much alive. She is still involved in many things including reality shows which as pointed above, she appeared in the 2018 Celebrity Big Brother Show.
The Scream Queens star has also been involved in politics although it would later seem that she is not cut for it after first supporting Hillary Clinton, and then Donald Trump, before coming to support neither in the build-up of the 2016 presidential elections.
