Kris Dunn is a young American basketball player who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The point guard began his career at New London High School, New London, Connecticut, where he emerged as one of the most promising PGs in high school basketball. He would later play college basketball at Providence College before making the NBA Draft of 2016.

Dunn was born in New London, Connecticut on the 18th day of March 1994 and was given the name Kristofer Michael Dunn. He attended New London High School, New London, Connecticut, where he kicked off his basketball career.
He led the school team to the Connecticut Class L State Championship where they played against Northwest Catholic High School and recorded a 27-0 win. As a junior, he recorded an average of five assists, five steals, ten rebounds, and 26.5 points per game. During his senior season, he recorded his 2,000th career points.

At the end of his high school career, Kris Dunn ranked #24 best player out of all high schools nationwide and #1 in Connecticut. In August 2011, he announced he would be attending Providence College. At college, he played basketball with the Providence Black Friars. He played only twenty-five games as a freshman due to a torn labrum, for which he underwent shoulder surgery, that notwithstanding, Dunn still recorded an average of 5.7 points per game.
After playing just four games, Kris couldn’t play for the rest of his sophomore season as he had to go through shoulder surgery which took him months to recover. He returned to play for the 2014/2015 season and a glorious season it was for the youngster. He led the Big East not just in steals per game but also in assists per game. His average point per game that season was 15.6.
At the end of the season, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year and also won the Big East Player of the Year award. The next season (2015/2016), despite returning with the intention to just graduate, Kris Dunn still garnered several preseason accolades to himself, including the preseason POY.
After scoring twenty-six points in a game against St.John which ended in a win and another twenty-six in a game against Butler University which also ended in a win, Dunn was named Big East Player of the Week in January 2016. In February, he emerged as one of the ten finalists being considered for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. In that same month, he was one of the thirty-five players who made it on the midseason watch list for the Naismith Trophy.
Kris Dunn forfeited his senior season to enter the 2016 NBA draft. ESPN projected him as a No.2 point guard and that he would likely be among the first players to be selected in the draft and their projection was correct as Dunn was picked by Minnesota Timberwolves as the 5th overall in the draft.
In July, he signed a rookie scale contract with the team and joined them for the 2016 NBA Summer League and recorded a team-high score of twenty-seven points in his Summer League debut. After two more games, he suffered a concussion which ruled him out of the rest of the tournament. He recovered early enough to join the team for their regular season-opening game against Memphis Grizzlies where he scored 8 points off the bench.
In a November game against the Grizzlies, Dunn would score ten points, with 6 assists and 5 steals to win the game by a 116–80 score. In June 2017, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls alongside Zach LaVine and the rights to the seventh pick (Lauri Markkanen) in the 2017 NBA draft in exchange for Jimmy Butler and the rights to the sixteenth pick (Justin Patton) in the 2017 NBA draft.
Dunn didn’t play with the team until their 5th game due to a left index finger dislocation. During his debut game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he hit 8 points and 5 fouls. Kris would join Michael Jordan as the only player from the team to make the record of twelve assists, 2 blocks, 4 steals, and twenty points after the game against Milwaukee Bucks on December 26, 2017, where he made that record.

Kris Dunn had a very tough childhood, Although he was born in Connecticut, he grew up in Alexandria, Va., with his mother Pia and older brother John. His mom isolated them from their father (John Seldon) by running off to Alexandria with the boys when Dunn was just a year old, so, he grew up without a real father figure, the only “father” he knew is his older brother.
