Not everyone has the boldness and determination to break free from an already working formula to forge a new path for the purpose of self-fulfillment. Lauren Jauregui’s solo career is not yet on par with her career as a part of a singing group. She is an American songstress most known for her work with the girl group Fifth Harmony. In early 2018, Lauren and the rest of the group announced they were taking an indefinite break from their group duties to work on their solo careers.
Lauren Jauregui’s Bio, Age
Jauregui was born in Miami, Florida to her Cuban parents, Michael Jauregui and Clara Morgado, on June 27, 1996. Her father, Michael worked as a plant manager while her mother was a teacher in Cuba prior to leaving the country when Fidel Castro took over as President. Lauren is the first child of her parents and has two younger siblings.
For her high school education, she attended an all-girls Catholic high school, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, located in Miami. Here, Lauren tried her hands on a lot of extracurriculars including softball and talent shows.
Lauren decided that a career in music was the way to go so at the age of 16, she took part in The X Factor auditions that held at Greensboro, North Carolina. She performed an Alicia Keys‘ song title If I Ain’t Got You. For the performance, she received positive reviews from the judges, with one of them, Antonio Reid, describing her voice as husky and mature, and her rendition as perfect.
She made it past auditions to the second round of the competition. However, her solo career ambitions proved to hit a dead end when she was pit against a country group called “Sister C”. Jauregui did not make it past this point but was recalled to the competition, this time with four other young budding artists: Dinah Jane, Ally Brooke, Normani Hamilton, and Camila Cabello. It was celebrity judge Simon Cowell who had the idea to lump the girls into a quintet which was later named Fifth Harmony. This time, with more girl power on her side, Lauren and her group powered on to finish second-runners up in the competition.
Moving on from The X Factor, it appeared things were looking up for Laurel Jauregui and her musical ambition. In 2013 the group recorded and released their first EP titled Better Together. On February 3, 2015, the girl group released Reflection, their first album, and the second 7/27 followed on May 20, 2016.
On August 25, 2017, the group released their third studio album titled Fifth Harmony. Overall, Lauren and her friends had seen massive success with each of their albums doing well on the charts, and with the group being invited to some of the best shows across the country. They even wrote soundtracks for movies like Hotel Transylvania 2 and The Star, both of which are animated films.
Meanwhile, after the release of their popular single Work From Home from their 7/27 album, Jauregui and the other girls in the group started to work to build individual careers and started launching solo projects. Lauren Jauregui got herself a feature on Marian Hill’s song Back to Me in December 2016. A few months later, she was also on Halsey’s Strangers, a track from her 2017 album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. Lauren has also worked with artists like Steve Aoki and Ty Dolla $ign.
Jauregui finally announced the coming of her debut solo album in May 2018. This came on the back of Fifth Harmony’s announcement two months prior that they were taking an indefinite break from the collective to put in work on their solo careers.
What is Her Relationship with Camila Cabello?
The simple answer is that Lauren Jauregui and Camilo Cabello are friends. They were both members of Fifth Harmony from the beginning, although Cabello was the first to walk away from the group in December 2016.
Rumour mills and fans alike, however, have suggested that both ladies were more than just friends. Lauren who is openly bisexual was rumored to have dated Cabello. Furthermore, the rumor mills kept spinning and cited some footage, pictures, and some of Lauren’s cryptic social media posts that all seemed to fan the flames of the rumor. Fans even came up with a relationship name for the duo – “Camren”.
However, Lauren has since come out to debunk the rumors of their relationship. She further stated how disappointed she was that people were sexualizing her relationships with her friends.
Lauren’s story has basically been one success story after another since 2013. And it’s certain her earnings and net worth have become the better for it too. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the singer has a fortune that is worth $3 million.
Does Lauren Jauregui have any Tattoo?
The star singer does have a few tattoos on her body, however, she is nowhere near as inked out as a lot of her counterparts in the industry.
It seems for the singer, she only gets tattoos to commemorate something real in her life and not for aesthetic purposes. She got her first tattoo in September 2014. It was the image of a dragonfly tattooed on the back of her neck. Jauregui says she got it as a memorial to her grandmother who had passed away.
In August 2015, she got the roman numerals “XXVII” inked on her right elbow. It stands for the number 27 which Lauren says is very special for two major reasons. She was born on June 27, 1996, and her ultra-successful girl group was formed on July 27, 2012.
She had the name of her paternal grandmother “Angelica” tattooed on her left forearm in October 2016 as a memorial to the woman who had died in February of the previous year.
