Lil Wayne’s teeth, what’s that about, huh? The rapper/lyricist had all his teeth encased in diamonds, popularly known as grills. Weezy has a whopping $150,000 in his mouth and according to his ‘Days and Days’ lyrics this makes his words precious. Although this is highly unlikely, we will let him have that one. The grills have become part and parcel of his appearance and we can hardly remember him without them, as is the case with his numerous tattoos.
It is easy to overlook the fact that he has some people’s salaries for 10 years in his mouth considering that his father, Birdman, spent half a million on his grills. Not half a million Zimbabwean Dollars people, US dollars all the way.
The grills are not as completely useless as some of us would assume, the rappers expensive jewelry also doubles as braces, very expensive braces nevertheless. In 2010, Lil Wayne’s teeth became more popular when a controversy erupted. Curious? The rapper was caught in possession of a gun and there were serious speculations made concerning his very expensive jewelry following him to prison.
Apparently there were no laws that clearly stated that the artist could not take his ‘expensive braces’ behind bars, but some grill related issues delayed the sentencing for a couple of weeks. According to TMZ, ‘we’re told it was a marathon session that included a stomach-turning eight root canals at one time’. In addition to that ‘We’re told during the eight hour procedure, Wayne had his grill worked on, several tooth implants redone, more implants added and had the few real teeth he had left repaired.’
We learn so many lessons just watching Lil Wayne’s life unfold, the one we take away today is, $150,000 diamond teeth probably need $150,000 maintenance.
Lil Wayne’s Baby Mamas
Lil Wayne has all the makings of a person with baby Mama drama, he certainly has other types of drama. The rapper may have other aspects of his life going topsy turvy, but his relationship with his family is very commendable. He has four children from different mother’s and none of them are at each other’s throats, in fact they get along very well.
His first baby Mama, who also snagged the title of wife, is Antonia ‘Toya’ Wright. Weezy met the mother of his only daughter when she was just 12 in New Orleans and 2 years later Toya was pregnant, carrying their 1st child Reginae Carter.
On November 29, 1998 , when she was just 15 and Weezy was 16, Reginae was born. Weezy fully pursued his career as a rapper to provide for his family. Six years later(2004) the couple was married and a mere 2 years later they separated and divorced due to personal differences. Despite this they still maintain a good relationship and raise their daughter together.
Baby Mama number 2, is Sarah Vivian, the mother of Dwayne Michael Carter III. Weezy met the mother of his second child at one of his concerts in 2005 and maintained an on-and-off relationship with her. On October 22, 2008, the baby boy, popularly called ‘Lil Tuney’ by his family members, was born. Sarah has long moved on with her life and has another daughter, Essence. Regardless she is still good friends with the rapper.
When Weezy first met Lauren London, she was 15 years old, the year was 1998, the place was the Universal Citywalk in California. There was evidence that the rapper was taken with her in a few of his early songs such as ‘California Love‘, ‘Young’n Blues’, and his ‘Frontin’ freestyle. It is rumored that they were secretly engaged at some point, but once again personal differences got in the way. We are beginning to notice a pattern here Weezy.
The couple, if we may call them that, welcomed a son into the world on September 9, 2009. Little Cameron Carter was born almost a year after his older brother.
His most recent baby Mama is the singer Nivea B. Hamilton, the two met in 2002 and their relationship blossomed. They even did a song together, called ‘She feeling me’. Later on that year their 8-month-long engagement was announced. Apparently, Weezy wanted to settle down with his first love, Toya, instead and that’s the last we heard of that.
This evidently had no impact on their friendship as 7 years later on November 30, 2009, she gave birth to their last child Neal Carter. Does any one else find the fact that he was born a mere 2 months after his brother Cameron a bit mind-blowing? Even after that, they still remain friends. Weezy’s clan is very close knit and they have all managed to get along.
Lil Wayne’s Girlfriend
With him already having 5 girlfriend’s in the past year, we have to hand it to the rapper, he is a lady’s man. Although we are confused as to whether we should commend him on how fast he goes through girlfriends. It would take all day and another day to have the full rundown of his love life. So here is what we have gleaned. The last we heard of the star’s love life, he was dating a 19 year old stripper sometime in May this year. There were several videos of him and a stripper named Royaltee (very classy).
Otherwise, the rapper has dated a few notable ladies. After his long engagement with Dhea Sodano ended, Weezy went on to date Christina Milian, Sylver Karatz, Paris Richards and Patricia Caves. This is less than a cross section but it would have to do, because it would take more than a few minutes to name them all. Rumor has it that he is back together with Dhea Sodano, but only time will tell.
