She is best known in media circles as the widow of the legendary martial artist, philosopher, and Hollywood star Bruce Lee. Who Is Linda Lee Cadwell? – Age

Linda Lee Cadwell was born Linda Emery on the 21st day of March in the year 1945 in Everett, Washington to Vivian and Everett Emery who are of Swedish, Irish and English ancestry. She began her high school education at Edmond Meany Jr. High and later moved to Garfield High School in Seattle, Washington. For her college education, she attended the University of Washington but quit when she was only a few credits away from graduation. She returned several years later to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. She equally bagged her teaching degree after which she began her career as a kindergarten school teacher.

Beyond her teaching career and her promotion of Bruce Lee’s martial arts philosophy, Cadwell is also a writer. Her first book Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew was published in 1975 and it formed the basis for the movie Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993). Cadwell’s second book The Bruce Lee Story was published back in 1989.

Relationship With Spouse – Bruce Lee

It is widely believed that Linda Emery met Bruce Lee while she was a teenager. Bruce was a college student at the University of Washington and also a martial arts instructor at that time and he had visited Linda’s high school to render a kung fu demonstration. Having picked interest in the sports, she became one of Bruce’s students when she got into the University of Washington.

As they say, the rest is history as the relationship between these 2 martial artists blossomed into a blissful marital union. They tied the knot on August 17, 1964, and they had 2 children together. They welcomed their first child on February 1, 1965, a son named Brandon Bruce Lee. They welcomed their second child on April 19, 1969, a daughter named Shannon Emery Lee. Linda and Bruce Lee remained married until July 1973 when the latter passed on.

Linda Lee Cadwell gave another shot at marriage several years after the untimely death of her first husband Bruce Lee. She has been married since 1991 to Bruce Cadwell, a retired stockbroker. Interestingly, Mr. Cadwell was her high schoolmate.

Linda Lee Cadwell’s only daughter Shannon Lee has indeed taken a path similar to that of her famous father. She is an actress, producer, businesswoman, and martial artist. Since 2001, she has served as the president of the Bruce Lee Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and propagating Bruce Lee’s philosophy on martial arts and life in general. Shannon Lee is married to Ian Keasler and they have one child together.

Cadwell’s only son Brannon Lee was a film and TV actor and also a martial artist. His movie credits include Laser Mission (1989), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), Rapid Fire (1992), and The Crow (1994). Unfortunately, Brannon Lee died on March 31, 1993, when a shooting accident occurred on the set of the movie The Crow. He was only 28 years old at the time of his untimely death.
