Maisie Richardson-Sellers was born on 2 March 1992 in England. Inasmuch as there is not much that is known about her family and how she was brought up, it is known that she was raised in a family of stage actors.

Although as stated, she has been acting for almost forever, it was until 2011 that she began doing so professionally. After her graduation, the actress moved back to London where she began auditioning for different roles.
In 2012, she got a role in the short film, Our First World and then in 2013, she was in another short film, Americano, and Rum. In 2015, she made a cameo appearance as Korr Sella in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The next film that she took a part in is Melody in which she appeared as Melody. Nonetheless, the release date for the short film is still yet to be made public.
Apart from the films, she has also been a part of some TV productions which is where she is even more famous. She got her first role in The Originals as Rebekah Mikaelson / Eva Sinclair from 2014 to 2015 and then in 2017. In 2016, she appeared as Michal, the daughter of King Saul and future wife of King David in the ABC TV drama based on the Biblical story from the books of Samuel, Of Kings and Prophets.
In what would be one of her major works yet, she got the main roles of Amaya Jiwe / Vixen and Charlie in Legends of Tomorrow in seasons 2 and 3 and then 4 respectively from 2016 till date. She appeared with her mother, Joy Richardson who made a guest appearance in the series, coming as a distant ancestor of Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in two episodes- “Zari” and “No Country for Old Dads”.
