Marcedes Lewis is arguably listed among the most prominent figures in the world of American football. He began his career playing for Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits (high school football team), from where he went to play college football at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
He started his professional career with Jacksonville Jaguars after being selected in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He spent twelve years with the Jaguars before moving on to the Green Bay Packers. Mercedes started playing American football at his high school, Long Beach Polytechnic High School, Long Beach, California. He was in the school team that played against De La Salle of Concord, California in a nationally televised game in 2001. During his senior days, he was named high school All-American by Parade magazine and major recruiting services considered him a top prospect.
After high school, Marcedes played college football for the UCLA Bruins football team (2002-2005). Throughout his college career, he appeared in 49 games, starting thirty-two times, held the UCLA tight end records of all time and was ranked 9th on the school’s receiving list ranking. In 2005, the young footballer won the John Mackey Award (annually given to the top tight end in college football) and was in addition named a consensus first-team All-American, as well as first-team All-Pacific-10 selection.
Professional Career
Marcedes Lewis began his NFL career in 2006, with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team drafted him in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. His college teammate Maurice Jones-Drew (running back) was also drafted by the Jaguars that season. By July, he sealed his five-year deal with the team worth $7.5 million, with $4.9 million guaranteed.
Although he initially didn’t do well when it comes to pass catching, making 91 receptions in three seasons, he, however, impressed his coaches with his blocking ability, thus, during the 2008 NFL season, he was used majorly as a blocker. In 2010, he matched the team’s single-season touchdown receptions record and was named among those to play at the Super-Bowl, which happened to be his first Super Bowl.
Lewis then signed another five-year contract with the Jaguars in 2011 worth $35 million with $17 million guaranteed. He renewed the contract again in 2016, to stay with the team for another three years. In November 2016, he sustained a calf injury during one of the games that kept him benched for a while.
Come March 2018, he was released by the Jaguars after 12 seasons and in May 2018, he signed a $2.1 million contract with the Green Bay Packers to stay with the team for one year. The contract includes a $500,000 signing bonus.
The footballer has won numerous awards for his outstanding accomplishments, which includes the John Mackey Award (Best TE), All-American Team (2005), Pro Bowl (2011).

Marcedes Lewis is not married and has never been married, however, he has been in a relationship with Olivia Pierson, who is one of the stars on E! channel’s show “WAGS”.
The duo began dating in 2015 and had so many issues in their relationship. Olivia took the bold step to end the relationship in 2016 after accusing him of being shady. After she called it quits with Lewis, she was romantically linked with the basketball star, in 2017.
The two made headlines after Olivia posted a picture of herself and a shirtless Joel cuddled up on Valentine’s day. Embiid would later respond to the post by re-posting it on his Instagram page with the hashtag ” Fake News”. And as for Marcedes Lewis, he has moved on with his life but there is no news about who is currently dating.
He has a daughter called Londyn Lewis from a previous relationship. A report, however, claims he has two other children whom he is silent about. A son with porn star Savannah Stern whose real name is Kristen Grinnell and another daughter with his college sweetheart, Es Forbes.
